LISBON, Portugal, June 10, 2009 (AFP) - Sporting Lisbon's Brazilian striker Derlei is leaving, the Portuguese first division club said on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old, whose full name is Wanderlei Fernandes da Silva, scored seven times last season for the Portuguese league runners-up.

"Derlei informed Sporting he had decided to decline the offer of a new contract," an announcement on the club's website said.

Derlei, who joined Sporting from Russian side Dynamo Moscow, enjoyed a glorious spell at Sporting's rivals FC Porto where under Jose Mourinho he won the 2003 UEFA Cup and the 2004 Champions League.
