Queiroz names Portugal squad for Liechtenstein friendly

LISBON, Aug 6, 2009 (AFP) - Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz on Thursday named an 18-man squad for a friendly against Liechtenstein on August 12.

There were no new faces added to the squad which played two World Cup qualifiers in June against Albania (2-1) and Estonia (0-0).

Next week's friendly is the last chance for Queiroz to finetune his team for upcoming qualifiers against Denmark and Hungary on September 5 and 9.

After six of 10 matches to be played Portugal currently sit third in Group 1 with a four and seven-point deficit respectively to second-placed Hungary and leaders Denmark.

Goalkeepers: Beto (FC Porto), Eduardo (Sporting Braga), Moreira (Benfica)

Defenders: Bosingwa (Chelsea/ENG), Bruno Alves (FC Porto), Miguel (Valencia/ESP), Pepe (Real Madrid/ESP), Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea/ENG), Rolando (FC Porto)

Midfielders: Deco (Chelsea/ENG), Duda (Sevilla/ESP), Joao Moutinho (Sporting Lisbon), Raul Meireles (FC Porto), Tiago (Juventus/ITA)

Strikers: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid/ENG), Hugo Almeida (Werder Bremen/GER), Nani (Manchester United/ENG), Simao Sabrosa (Atletico Madrid/ESP)
