Benfica sign Menezes, Rochemback heading home

LISBON, Aug 29, 2009 (AFP) - Benfica have signed young Brazilian attacking midfielder Felipe Menezes, subject to the 21-year-old passing the traditional medical, the Lisbon side announced on Saturday.

Menezes joins Benfica from Brazilian club Goias on a five year deal.

Benfica have also announced their Paraguyan striker Oscar Cardozo, the Portuguese league's top scorer in the past two seasons, has signed a new two year contract up to 2014.

Benfica's city rivals Sporting Lisbon meanwhile are set to lose their Brazilian midfielder Fabio Rochemback, who is in Brazil for a medical ahead of a transfer to Gremio.
