Spain go top in FIFA's world rankings

PARIS, Nov 20, 2009 (AFP) - European champions Spain replaced Brazil as the world number one team in FIFA's world rankings, published Friday.

Spain moved up one place while Brazil dropped down to second, although the biggest movers among the top ten were Portugal, who moved up five places to fifth following two playoff wins over Bosnia.

FIFA world rankings:

1. Spain (+1 place)

2. Brazil (- 1)

3. Netherlands

4. Italy

5. Portugal (+5)

6. Germany (-1)

7. France (+2)

8. Argentina (-2)

9. England (-2)
