BERLIN, Nov 29, 2009 (AFP) - Crowd trouble marred weekend action in the German Bundesliga with a total of 85 arrests at two games.

Violence flared Friday and a policeman and one steward were hurt after Cologne supporters tried to break into the enclosure of fans of local rivals Bochum and Cologne.

Bochum police made 19 arrests.

Sixty arrests followed ahead of Saturday's encounter between rock bottom Hertha Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt, some of whose fans attacked home supporters and threw empty bottles.

And half a dozen further arrests followed amid scuffles after Hamburg fans brought traffic to a standstill at Mainz ahead of their draw.

In addition, a junior level match between Schalke 04 and local rivals Dortmund had to be called off after 27 minutes following clashes between rival fans and the throwing of firecrackers.
