BLACKBURN, Feb 9, 2010 (AFP) - Blackburn's Premier League clash with Hull on Wednesday will be preceded by a minute's silence in memory of a Rovers fan who died after receiving a head wound in circumstances that are still to clarified during the club's match at Stoke on Saturday.

Players will also wear black armbands out of respect to John Steven Taylor, 30, who died in hospital on Sunday after being treated for a head injury and cardiac arrest.

Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce said: "It is a great tragedy that has happened. I have never heard anything like this in my entire life. It is a great shame.

"Our sympathies go out to his family and we will doing our utmost in terms of respect for him tomorrow. If it helps the family in some way, we will get them a win and three valuable points."

Police arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with Taylor's death and have subsequently released him on bail pending further enquiries.
