LILLE, France, Feb 18, 2010 (AFP) - Lille forward Gervinho was on Thursday ordered to appear in court here on June 15 to answer charges of driving without a valid licence and possessing false documents.

The 22-year-old Ivory Coast international, currently the second highest scorer in the French top flight, was interviewed by police at the beginning of last week, according to a judicial source who confirmed information published in the La Voix du Nord regional daily.

Gervinho was stopped by Lille's traffic police for a routine inspection last November and was found to be in possession of an invalid driving licence.

According to La Voix du Nord, Gervinho admitted that he had never passed his driving test and had bought the document in the Ivory Coast.
