Mourinho feels unloved in Italy - report

LONDON, Feb 21, 2010 (AFP) - Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho has dropped another hint that his long-term future lies away from the San Siro after a report in England on Sunday claimed the former Chelsea boss feels unloved in Italy.

Although Mourinho led Inter to the Serie A title last season, the Portuguese coach has appeared unhappy with the way he is treated in Italy on several occasions since his arrival in 2008.

He has been involved in numerous spats with rival coaches as well as being fined for arguing with a journalist.

Mourinho, who faces an emotional first reunion with Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday, has been linked with Manchester City and Liverpool and he admits he misses the respect shown to foreign coaches in England.

"I am the only foreign coach in Serie A. Life is difficult here," Mourinho is quoted as saying in The Observer.

"When they vote for the coach of the year, voted for by the coaches who are all Italian, I don't win. I have to vote for myself to get a vote.

"I see also in Italy how they celebrate the victories of Ancelotti's Chelsea, or Capello's England, and deeply regret Mr Trapattoni's misfortune (with the Republic of Ireland) in missing a World Cup in such an incredible way in Paris.

"I've seen the privilege, passion and affection with which Ancelotti, Trapattoni and Capello are treated, but for the only foreign coach in Serie A, life is difficult. How can they ask me if my love for Italy is different when I've never loved it?"
