ROME, Feb 23, 2010 (AFP) - Former Italy international defender Christian Panucci has left Parma by mututal consent, both parties confirmed on Tuesday.

Panucci only joined the former UEFA Cup and Cup Winners' Cup winners at the beginning of the season, having left AS Roma.

But a statement from the player said he was leaving immediately due to personal reasons while denying that it was due to a rift with coach Francesco Guidolin.

The 36-year-old was a regular starter for Parma this season but his contract was due to run out in June.

Having started his career at Genoa, he went on to play for AC Milan, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Monaco before returning to Italy with Roma.

He played 57 times for Italy, scoring four goals.
