World Cup Qualifiers: Previews and Predictions

Published by adam | Filed under Fifa World Cup South Africa 2010, Football (aka soccer), Predictions

Several promising matches are hours away with do or die situations for most. In a matches of this caliber, will home field advantage play a role? Will tempers flair?

My picks of the night…

Ireland-France_1523397c

France vs. Ireland

This will be another hard fought affair, but France has the edge in France. They are too deep and too talented of a team to let this chance slip by.

France 3 – 1 Ireland

Simao-Sabrosa-001

Bosnia & Herzegovina vs. Portugal

No Ronaldo and Deco doubtful. I am not sure about this one. Bosnia will also have missing players, but their strikers are intact. Portugal will have to change a bit of their defensive style as Bosnia & Hezegovenia have found themselves in a do or die situation.

Bosnia & Herzegovina 2 – 2 Portugal

Russia vs. Slovenia

Slovenia’s late goal has changed the situation completely. Slovenia will attack and give everything they have, there is no doubt about that. Russia needs to attack as well. Russia needs to tie or better, but will face a harsh environment in Maribor.

Russia 2 – 1 Slovenia

Greece vs. Ukraine

Shevchenko led Ukraine face a tough one, but have home advantage in Donetsk after a 0-0 draw in Athens.

Ukraine 2 – 1 Greece
