9/11 20:45 BST Everton vs Manchester United – Odds | Stats
The Premier League returns to action early Saturday as Manchester United travels to Goodison Park to take on The Blues of Everton. United has the rather impressive edge against Everton with a total 13 wins, 2 draws, and only 2 loses. The match should be a good one, but will international duty reveal tired legs or have put any strain on the players?
Everton:
Everton, after appearing to have a promising season in store, has suffered their worst start in 11 years. The Blues have only managed 1 point from a possible 9 in their first 3 games in the Premier League. Perhaps the only positive for the Toffees is the hope of remembering beating United 3-1 in last season’s fixture. John Heitingna and Phil Jagielka will have their hands full at the back. Mikel Arteta is Everton’s lifeline, providing vision and pinpoint passes into the attack. If Everton wants to do well this season, they will no doubt need Arteta to be at his best. The injury issue is mainly in attack as Louis Saha is out with an injury sustained from France’s recent loss to Belarus. Yakubu and Anichebe are back training in the Everton camp, but will most likely be rested. Therefore, Jermaine Beckford is the only fit out and out striker. Everton will look to play physical football in order to break up United’s possession.
Manchester United:
After their 3-0 win against West Ham, it appears the Red Devils are back on track to compete for the title. Owen Hargreaves remains on the injured list, but Rio Ferdinand and Anderson are ready to go if Sir Alex decides to give them a chance. Nemanja Vidic has been terrific in the back. Rooney on the other hand, showed he is capable of performing even in the midst of a media frenzy. Sir Alex will decide if the striker should be rested as an important Champions League fixture is looming. One thing is for sure, a reign of hate will be unleashed when he steps onto the pitch. Paul Scholes and Dimitar Berbatov are playing exceptionally well. Berbatov has finally become a name United supporters are happy to say.

Prediction:
The season is young and anything can happen when playing at home in the Premier League. Both teams will well remember what occurred last season in Merseyside, but it will be Manchester United who pulls through this Saturday. Although watch out for Everton’s set pieces.
Pick:
Everton 1 – 2 Manchester United
