Nike releases Juventus 2011/12 Away Kit: Pinker than ever
Published by adam | Filed under Juventus, Kits, Serie A

Nike launches the overwhelmingly pink Juventus 2011/12 away kit in a bold move. The jersey also features an over-sized black star from the neck all the way down to the waist line. This same pink was used on the original 1897 Juve jersey, when the club founded. Nike took a risk with this one, but this flashy kit could go quite well in a flashy market (aka Italy).
Juventus are one of the few football clubs famous for wearing pink kits. Following the foundation of the club back in 1897, Juventus wore pink shirts and black shorts for six years before switching to the Bianconeri black and white stripes. The star feature, however was inspired by the Champions League success of 1996 where Juve won wearing a blue shirt with over-sized gold stars on the shoulder. Too bad Juventus can’t even qualify anymore.
Juventus’ kits are constructed with Nike Dri-FIT technology and innovative recycled polyester, produced from the recycling of 14 water bottles.
