Now that the Euro 2012 tournament is over, I have found myself somehow waiting anxiously for the London 2012 Olympics. I want to see more upsets. I want to see just how long Spain can continue their dominance of modern football (and without their superstars). I simply need more football. In an attempt to ease this pain of deprivation, I have compiled a list of blogs for you to check out while you wait for your team to take the field again. In no particular order, here are the best footy blogs of 2012.

The Run of Play
The Run of Play serves up a beautiful rendition of football behind the scenes. Brian Phillips’ award-winning site both looks and reads great. Most of the articles are essay form about everything and anything in the world of footy.

Who Ate all the Pies
Founded in 2006, the Pies is an instant classic and has a large following to show for. There is no short of writers, content, and material. These guys make posts when there is nothing to post about.

In Bed with Maradona

In Bed with Maradona blew up in 2010 and continues to impress. In addition to the best name in blogging, the site has quality content. With news from around the world, you never know what you will get next with this blog.

The Kickette
The site “for those who love the players as much as they love the game” is not only a hit for the ladies. Many a men have found themselves flocking to this entertaining, raw, and oftentimes under-dressed interpretation of the sport we love to watch.

The Football Ramble
The Football Ramble keeps it simple but sophisticated. Find articles written by experts in subjects that the writers know down to an art.

The Dirty Tackle
The Dirty Tackle has long put a comical spin on football and was quickly snatched up by Yahoo. Blogger Brooks Peck knows what people want from a blog and that is obvious with weekly Artur Buruc’s Friday Rage lists, If it continued, Ibhra mimes, etc. Brooks has been spearheading this blog for a while but it looks like they have picked up some help with another writer.

Caught Offside
This is another blog with a bit of everything. News, Transfers, Transfer Rumors, Wags, New Kits, Kit Rumors can all be found on Caught Offside. Get all of your English Premier League gossip here.

The Beautiful Gear
It is no shock that you have to look good to play good. Or if you can’t play, at least you can look good while you try. Featuring all the latest trends and new soccer sportswear, the Beautiful Gear will have you looking good in no time. The stylish layout is a fan favorite.

FourFourTwo
FourFourTwo has it all. While not exactly a traditional blog, 4-4-2 encompasses several blogs, news, and opinions in a one stop football shop. Tactics, analysis, new players to watch beware.

If you counted, it is likely you will only find nine links. Don’t worry folks, for you are reading the tenth on our list right now.
