Founded in 1990, Interwetten originated as a telephone operated betting service based in Vienna, whose primary focus was football and ice hockey. Based in Malta since March 2005, Interwetten currently services over a million customers from 200 different countries. In 2008, bets were placed on more than 90.000 different sports events in more than 70 countries.

Interwetten focuses primarily on European sports, with about 65% of their action coming from football. Their match result odds are pretty typical when compared to their competitors; however, they tend to be a bit conservative when pricing odds on the long shots. Their Asian Handicaps are also fairly weak compared to juggernauts Pinnacle Sports and Bet365. Interwetten does offer a wide range of events though, such as tennis, basketball, baseball, golf, rugby and many more.

Interwetten’s website is user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing. A site relaunch in April 2009 even split the site up into separate sections for Newcomer, Pro and Expert bettors. Navigation is clearly defined with an event drop list on the left side on the homepage, and Live Betting, Bestseller and Last Minute bet lists clearly featured in the center of the page.

A 24/7 customer service department is available by phone or email. All emails are guaranteed to be responded to in 30 minutes or less. Support team members are multilingual and are often praised for their professionalism and attentiveness.

One of Interwetten’s top priorities is security. All measures are taken to ensure that the customer’s information is safe. There are several methods of deposit offered and a wide range of currencies accepted. Withdrawal is easy and relatively quick.
