bet365 Bonus Code - Best Bet - Red Wing vs. Blue Jackets

The Detroit Red Wings opened the season with a 4-3 road loss to the New Jersey Devils before upsetting the Tampa Bay Lightning at home 6-4. The Columbus Blue Jackets started the season with a 4-2 tough loss at home to the Philadelphia Flyers. They are coming off a big 5-3 home win over the New York Rangers on Saturday, October 14.

The Blue Jackets were looking to be one of the top-scoring teams in the league before the start of last season after acquiring forward Johnny Gaudreau via free agency. Instead, Gaudreau's production dropped significantly from scoring 40 goals in his last season with the Calgary Flames (2021-2022) to only 21 goals last season in his first year with the Blue Jackets.

The Blue Jackets were the least effective scoring team in the Eastern Conference by scoring 214 goals. They also allowed the most goals (330) in the Eastern Conference.

The Red Wings were barely any better than the Blue Jackets on offense and on defense. Detroit scored 240 goals, which was 13th in the NHL. They also allowed the fourth most goals in the league with 279 goals allowed.

The Blue Jackets are hoping to find some highly consistent offensive talent. Center Boone Center scored three goals in the big win over the Rangers. Gaudreau accounted for two assists against the Rangers but is looking for his first goal of the season.

Red Wings right wing Alex Debrincat has scored three goals in just two games. He scored two goals in the big win over the Lightning. The Red Wings are off to a rough start to the season as goalkeeper Ville Husso has allowed seven goals in just two games. The entire defense of Detroit needs some work as the season continues its beginning run.
