Zach Gallen will be starting for Arizona. The ace had another good season, but he hasn’t been as sharp in the postseason. He has a 5.24 ERA across four playoff starts in 2023, thanks to being hammered by the Phillies twice in the NLCS. They tagged him for nine runs over 11 innings, leading him to pick up a loss in both games.
The Arizona offense does not have the same weapons as the Rangers, but they have been doing everything they need to in the postseason. Ketel Marte has led the team with a .358 batting average, two home runs, and seven RBIs. The second baseman has had a hit in all 12 postseason games. Joining him has been Corbin Carroll, who is the D-Backs budding superstar. He has a .295 batting average with six home runs, seven RBIs, and four stolen bases.
Texas will send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound to start Game 1. The veteran has been a massive reason for Texas’s unexpectedly great season. He stepped up to fill in as the team’s ace after Jacob deGrom was injured early in the season. Injuries caused him to miss a lot of time at the end of the season, but he has looked to be at full strength in the playoffs. Eovaldi has a 2.42 ERA across four starts in the postseason, registering a quality start in each. Only three D-Back hitters have faced the righty before, meaning he will be a new face for most of their lineup.
The Texas lineup is arguably the best in all of baseball. They finished the season ranked second in batting average (.263), third in home runs (233), and third in RBIs (845). They have been just as great in the postseason, led by Adolis Garcia. The slugger has a .327 batting average, seven home runs, and 20 RBIs through 52 postseason at-bats. He was the key to their ALCS victory, and we expect him to stay hot on Friday.
Sports betting can be a fun and occasionally profitable experience, but only if you practice responsible gambling. While that may not sound exciting, having a firm money management strategy in place makes sports betting a more enjoyable experience.
Before you start betting, we recommend setting a firm budget for how much you can wager per day or week. That number should be set based on the assumption that all your bets lose. That will help you avoid painful and possibly life-altering consequences from betting beyond your means.
We also recommend using a prepaid card or similar option to fund your account. This will ensure you are not directly pulling from your bank account, protecting you from burning through your bankroll and dealing with overdraft fees.
If you are concerned that your gambling may be getting out of control, BetMGM has you covered. They offer a fantastic GameSense program that can help you find resources, set budgets, and find tips and strategies to help you have a fun and safe betting experience.
