The Magic will surely be feeling good about themselves after a two-point win in Chicago on Wednesday. Orlando is now back above .500 while the Bulls have just two wins in their last eight games and are just 4-8 overall. Needless to say, the Bulls need a win on Friday, especially with back-to-back games against Miami on the horizon.

Magic vs. Bulls Betting Tips

Despite losing to the Magic on Wednesday, the Bulls opened as two-point home favorites on Friday. While they’re just 3-4 at home early in the season, playing at the United Center should give Chicago a boost in what figures to be another close game. Keep in mind a last-second shot by Orlando’s Paolo Banchero was the difference in Wednesday’s game, so there isn't much to separate these teams. It could just as easily have been the Bulls with a last-second game-winning shot in that game.

The box score of Wednesday’s game was just as close as the final score indicates. The Bulls shot 39.8% from the field while the Magic shot 39%. Chicago was 9 for 33 from three-point range while Orlando was 8 for 28. Perhaps the biggest difference in the game is that the Bulls committed 19 turnovers while the Magic only turned it over 13 times. Chicago also went ice-cold in the second quarter, only scoring 12 points, which forced the Bulls to play from behind throughout the second half.

It’s also worth noting that DeMar DeRozan missed Wednesday’s game for personal reasons. Needless to say, the Bulls missed their second-leading scorer. DeRozan is listed as a game-time decision for Friday’s game, meaning there is a chance that he could return, potentially tipping the scales in Chicago’s favor.

On the other side, the Magic will be hoping to build on the momentum of Wednesday’s win. Orlando also knocked off Milwaukee last weekend, giving the Magic some confidence. Being an underdog is also nothing new to the Magic, who are now 5-3 against the spread as underdogs, including three straight-up wins as a betting underdog.

The Magic seem to have adjusted nicely to playing without point guard Markelle Fultz and center Wendell Carter. Backup center Moritz Wagner has become a more consistent scorer while backup point guard Cole Anthony had one of his best games of the season in Wednesday’s game against the Bulls.

Unfortunately for the Magic, they are still playing a little short-handed and are relying on a lot of young players to perform consistently. After a close win on Wednesday, Orlando is likely to come back down to earth a little. Assuming DeRozan returns for the Bulls, this is a game that Chicago should be able to win while covering the small spread.
