The Milwaukee Bucks did their jobs in Game 4. The received excellent contributions from the bench while the starting lineup maintained their offensive threat.

While Mirotic's addition to the starting lineup hasn't worked perfectly, the sheer threat he provides is enough to open up the floor for Giannis.

The Greek Freak did his utmost to bring the game back to Milwaukee for the chance to finish the Celtics' season. If he produces another performance akin to his Game 4, Milwaukee will be headed to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The future looks bleak for the Boston Celtics. After a promising Game 1, the Celtics have looked outclassed in every match to follow.

Game 4 was a humbling experience for the Celtics. As Boston promised to improve their efficiency and output, it was more of the same as they couldn't keep up with Milwaukee's defence.

Game 5 is next and the Celtics are still looking for answers. They were poor from he field and star Kyrie Irving was inefficient. They'll need more from everyone if they hope to push this series back to Boston.

What's At Stake?

The Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks have maintained a rather competitive series all-time. In 213 regular season games, the Celtics hold a slim 109-104 lead over the Bucks.

Since 2018 the Celtics and Bucks have met in six different playoff series. Boston holds a commanding lead in series won with a 5-1 lead over Milwaukee.

The Boston Celtics are on the edge of elimination. A win would bring the series back to Boston and give them another chance to win the series.

The Milwaukee Bucks have no intention of leaving home, as they look to finish the Celtics and book their tickets to the Eastern Conference Finals with a win.

Irving's Confidence is "Unwavering"

Game 4 was possibly Kyrie Irving's last home game as a Boston Celtic. As the C's lost the match and are heading into an elimination game in Milwaukee.

Despite the odds being against them, Irving has suggested that he is "unwavered" by his shooting and teams performance. He is fully confident in his teams ability going forward:

Regardless of his feelings though, Irving needs to relay that into performances on the court. He was 7-22 from the field and 1-7 from three in 43 minutes of play. Confidence is excellent and necessary, but the Celtics need to draw from somewhere successful if they want to avoid elimination.

Giannis Was Incredible

While the Milwaukee Bucks struggled to knock down their shots in the first-quarter, it was the Greek Freak that kept the Bucks in the game. Navigating his way into the paint and ploughing through defenders, Giannis was a beast from beginning to end.

What more can you ask from Antetokounmpo? He had 39 points, 16 rebounds, and even hit two three-pointers! The Greek Freak was unstoppable, going 15-22 from the field and 2-5 from deep.

The Celtics haven't been able to slow him down and there's no suggestion that they'll be able to. If Giannis can perform to even half this production next game, the Bucks may be headed to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Are the Celtics Too Soft?

In both home games for the Boston Celtics, the side has had double-digit first half leads that have only been taken away resulting in their current 3-1 hole to the Bucks. Post-Game Marcus Morris had this to say about his side:

Remarkably, Morris called his Boston Celtics side soft. Too soft to compete with the Bucks in the paint. Whether that is accurate or not is up for debate, but the truth of the matter is that they're not protecting at the rim.

The Bucks shot 44% on the evening and out rebounded the Celtics 56 to 51 on the evening. The pace of play alone dictates that the winner in the paint will likely take the game. Is it too late for the Celtics to make the right adjustments? There aren't signs that they can pull it off, but doing so can save them for one more game.

George Hill Is Helping Out

After what was a tremendous Game 3 performance, George Hill was as classy as ever in Game 4. Most importantly he came alive in the second half of the game, helping the Bucks to their victory.

Hill was on the courtt for 27 minutes and went 6-11 from the field for 15 points. He also chipped in four boards and five assists on the evening. His ability to attack the rim has been invaluable and he hasn't been contained by the Celtics.

His veteran presence is needed in a series and team like this. While Hill is not the focal point of any offence, his ability to capitalize on opportunities is driving the Bucks to the finish line.

Boston Celtics Roster Notes

G Marcus Smart - 10 Apr 2019 - Out (Oblique) - Smart suffered a torn oblique and could be sidelined for the first two rounds of playoffs, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Milwaukee Bucks Roster Notes

G Malcolm Brogdon - 25 Apr 2019 - Out (Heel) - Brogdon is listed as OUT for Games 1 & 2 against the Boston Celtics.

G Donte DiVincenzo - 26 Mar 2019 - Out For Season (Heel) - DiVincenzo is out for the rest of the season with bilateral heel bursitis in his right foot according to Malika Andrews of ESPN.

C Pau Gasol - 23 Mar 2019 - Out (Ankle) - Gasol is expected to miss approximately one month with a left ankle injury according to Malika Andrews of ESPN.

X-Factors: Eric Bledsoe (MIL) vs Kyrie Irving (BOS)

Look to the point guard position for the matchup of the evening as Eric Bledsoe and Kyrie Irving face off. While Bledsoe seems to have shaken off some of his early series rust, Irving needs to improve on his efficiency.

Kyrie Irving

Point Guard | 6-3, 193lb (190cm, 87kg) | Duke | Exp. 7 Years

23.8 PPG | 6.9 APG | 5.0 RPG | 1.5 SPG | 0.5 BPG | 2.6 TOV | .487 FG% | .401 3P%

It's Kyrie's show up in Boston, and the curtain is about to close on him. For all the drama involved with his move to the Celtics critics rave about his inability to lead the team.

More than ever, the series is in Irving's hands. He was 7-22 from the field in an important Game 4 and they now have their backs against the wall. Irving distributed the ball well, to the tune of 10 assist, but was overall ineffective.

He needs to carry the Celtics on his back, as their defence hasn't shown any capacity to keep up with the Bucks. No miracles are needed, just a solid game from Kyrie.

Eric Bledsoe

Point Guard | 6-1, 205lb (185cm, 92kg) | Kentucky | Exp. 8 Years

15.9 PPG | 1.5 APG | 4.6 RPG | 1.5 SPG | 0.4 BPG | 2.1 TOV | .484 FG% | .329 3P%

In 28 minutes of play Bledsoe score 13 points on 6-12 from the field. He wasn't able to hit from deep, but his finishing at the rim was back on display.

More valuably Bledsoe was a thorn in the side of Kyrie Irving all night long. His defensive ability helped limit Irving to a poor shooting night, much to the pleasure of Mike Budenholzer.

While Bledsoe is hot and cold on offence, his defensive effort is always there. If he can channel that energy into another match, the Bucks are going to be in great shape.

Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks Predictions and Odds

All eyes are on the Milwaukee Bucks to close out the series but the Boston Celtics still have the talent to pull off an upset win. Whether or not that that will come to pass is another story.
