It is already Week 3 in the NFL and so far injuries have been the biggest headline, with some teams like the San Francisco 49ers hurting more than others, but all teams feeling the sting of not having had all those preseason games to better condition the players.

Other teams like the Houston Texans have been subject to tough scheduling and are actually more talented than that 0-2 record might suggest, but other franchises are playing out exactly how the experts predicted, with teams like the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals winless and not looking ready to change that any time soon.

Regardless of how individual squads are doing, the league is back despite overwhelming odds and the football is excellent despite a lack of live crowds, so crack open your betting kitty and get ready to make some solid wagers after reading our NFL picks and predictions for Week 3..

Miami Dolphins vs Jacksonville Jaguars (-2.5)

How to watch: TNF, 8:20 PM EST, NBC

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick loses to the Buffalo Bills in Week 2, but on the brighter side, he connected with TE Mike Gesicki for 8 receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown, a target he will count on against the Jaguars.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the Tennessee Titans in Week 2 despite scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter, their young QB Gardner Minshew with 3 TD passes for 339 yards and 2 TDs but with 2 interceptions on the day.

The Jaguars look tough and the Dolphins look like they need more time to develop cohesiveness and that won’t happen by Thursday – take the Jags and give up the points.

Pick:

Jaguars -2.5   (-110)

Las Vegas Raiders vs New England Patriots (-6.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 1:00 PM EST, CBS

The Las Vegas Raiders looked uncharacteristically solid in their 10-point win over the Saints on MNF as they broke in their new stadium, the multi-billion-dollar Allegiant Stadium, to zero fans, with star tight end Darren Waller proving to be one of the top playmakers on the Raiders’ roster, plus their two rookie receivers Bryan Edwards and Henry Ruggs, superstar RB in the making Josh Jacobs and clutch kicker Daniel Carlson.

Well, not only can New England Patriots new (latest) QB Cam Newton run the ball at any moment, he can also throw accurately, hooking up with slot receiver Julian Edelman in Week 2, giving him a career day with 8 catches for 179 yards.

As dangerous as Las Vegas and their Carr-to-Waller hookup looked on MNF, the Patriots and their fine-tuned defense will get it done against the Raiders at home by at least a touchdown.

Pick:

New England Patriots -6.5  (-110)

LA Rams vs Buffalo Bills (-2.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 1:00 PM EST, Fox

The Los Angeles Rams are looking like last season never happened, meaning they are healthy enough to be dangerous again, with a Week 2 win that had QB Jared Goff connecting with TE Tyler Higbee three times for touchdowns, something you can expect to see more of against Buffalo.

Nobody is too surprised that the Buffalo Bills are 2-0, their defense stepping up in Week 2 and giving their offense plenty of on-field time to shine, with second-year QB Josh Allen throwing for over 400 yards and four touchdown passes in this one.

Close one, but the Bills at home should get it done by a field goal or more.

Pick:

Bills -2.5  (-114)

Houston Texans vs Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 1:00 PM EST, CBS

The winless Texans are actually a lot better than their 0-2 record might suggest, but they had a difficult couple of weeks against the Chiefs and the Ravens, and it doesn’t get any easier against the tough pass rushing 2-0 Pittsburgh Steelers.

Big Ben Roethlisberger proved in Week 2 that he is healthy and his throwing arm is back and making matters even worse for whatever team plays his Pittsburgh Steelers is their brutal pass rushers, with T.J. Watt and Bud Dupree making QB life miserable for the opposition.

The Texans have to win this one or else they go 0-3 and become also-rans in the 2020 NFL season, and there is no way that QB Deshaun Watson is going to let that happen, especially if you give him points.

Pick:

Texans +3.5   (-110)

San Francisco 49ers vs New York Giants (-4)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 1:00 PM, CBS

Tough season for the San Francisco 49ers in terms of injuries – WR Deebo Samuel is out, plus now there’s QB Jimmy Garoppolo’s ankle, RB Raheem Mostert’s knee, Nick Bosa’s Knee, and DT Solomon Thomas’ Knee, all of which have shortened or ended these playmakers’ seasons.

The bad news is the New York Giants lost to the Bears in Week 2 after failing to score in the first half, but the worst news is their star RB Saquon Barkley is most likely out for the rest of the year with an Achilles tear.

Injuries will make this game less challenging, but it’s still the 49ers and they are still the Giants, so if you’re going to put your money on this one, take the Niners and give away a few points.

Pick:

49ers -4   (-110)

Tennessee Titans vs Minnesota Vikings (-2.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 1:00 PM EST, CBS

The Titans almost lost it in Week 2 but were able to come back and sneak a win by a field goal over the Jacksonville Jaguars, whose offense seems to be more effective than the Vikings’ attack these days.

Looks like it actually might have been former OC Kevin Stefanski who made these Vikings tick on offense because now he’s in Cleveland and Minnesota seems completely ineffective on that side of the ball.

Titans will make easy work of these Vikings this early in the season, with Derrick Henry’s rushing attack leading the way into the endzone.

Pick:

Titans -2.5   (-110)

Washington Football Team vs Cleveland Browns (-7.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 1:00 PM EST, Fox

The Washington Football Team could not stop the Cardinals passing game, while QB Dwayne Haskins and WR Terry McLaurin have become a powerful connection, with 7 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 between them.

Finally, the Kevin Stefanski styled offense was apparent in Cleveland against the now decent Bengals, and Browns QB Baker Mayfield and his star WR OBJ are finally clicking, so all that talent might finally translate into TD’s and W’s, if the banged-up Cleveland defense can show up, that is.

Browns are on an upward roll and despite their wounded secondary should be able to take care of Washington at home by ten points or more led by their unstoppable rushing attack with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.

Pick:

Browns -7.5   (-109)

Cincinnati Bengals vs Philadelphia Eagles (-6.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 1:00 PM EST, CBS

Cincinnati Bengals have found their latest franchise QB in rookie Joe Burrow, but now the young playmaker with the rocket arm and uncanny football IQ just needs a team around him besides his three main receivers and RB Joe Mixon, in other words, a better O-line and defense.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 0-2 and looking ineffectual on offense, with star QB Carson Wentz and company only scoring 19 points in Week 2, which will not be enough to outscore Burrow and his Bengals deep threat targets.

Count on Wentz to wake up and get busy at home against these Bengals youngsters and win this one by at least a touchdown.

Pick:

Eagles -6.5   (-110)

Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons (-3.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 1:00 PM EST Fox

Trubisky throws two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Chicago Bears Week 2 win over the NY Giants, the Bears winning that one despite their shaky offense failing to score any points in the second half.

The Atlanta Falcons inexplicably (and inexcusably) failed to cover an onside kick and that allowed the Cowboys to kick two game-winning 58-yard field goals in the final minutes of the 4th quarter for the embarrassing loss for Matt Ryan’s guys.

Surely the Falcons can rebound off that terrible Week 2 loss and take care of these shaky bears and their questionable QB.

Pick:

Falcons -3.5  (-110)

New York Jets vs Indianapolis Colts (-10)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 4:05 PM EST, CBS

These New York Jets seem to have an impotent offense in 2020, only scoring a field goal in the first half of their Week 2 loss to the banged-up San Francisco 49ers, and then only managing just 10 second-half points.

The Indy Colts defense shut down the Vikings in Week 2, winning their game off the 26 carries of Jonathan Taylor who accounted for 101 rushing yards and a touchdown.

The Colts will win this one, watch for Philip Rivers to get in the groove against the Jets’ secondary.

Colts -10   (-110)

Carolina Panthers vs Los Angeles Chargers (-7)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 4:05 PM EST, Fox

The best player on the Carolina Panthers, dual-threat running back Christian McCaffery, suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 2 so he will be out for about four weeks, and that takes the team’s offense back a few steps more than they already were battling the addition of a new QB under center, Teddy Bridgewater.

Well, that was a fun Week 2 game to watch since the Los Angeles Chargers almost beat the reigning Super Bowl Champion Chiefs with their starting QB, Tyrod Taylor, out and rookie Justin Herbert in, while star DE Joey Bosa and the Chargers pass rush so intense they even made Patrick Mahomes look beatable.

This game might have been close with a healthy McCaffery, but without him, the Panthers won’t be able to outscore these Chargers.

Pick:

Chargers -7   (-110)

Detroit Lions vs Arizona Cardinals (-5.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sep 27, 4:25 PM EST, Fox

It is not a good sign for head coach Matt Patricia and his steady and effective QB Matthew Stafford that in 2020 for the first two weeks in a row the Lions have blown an early lead, something that might be tough to fix against these Cardinals who haven’t scored less than 24 points in either of their outings this season.

Arizona Cardinals 2nd year QB Kyler Murray has proved he is officially an NFL QB now, taking the second-year jump in production by fully utilizing new target DeAndre Hopkins and his old steady target, veteran Larry Fitzgerald.

The undefeated Cardinals have beaten the 49ers and Washington, so it stands to reason they can beat the winless Detroit Lions.

Pick:

Cardinals -5.5   (-110)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Denver Broncos (-6)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 4:25 PM EST, Fox

Okay, so maybe Tom Brady and Mike Evans are now finally on the same page because the Tampa Bay Bucs got their first win, and the two of them connected for 7 catches for 104 total yards and a touchdown.

Broncos lose starting QB Drew Lock to shoulder injury and wide receiver Courtland Sutton to a torn ACL, and though backup QB Jeff Driskel does a decent job filling in, the Broncs still got the Week 2 loss.

The GOAT looks primed and the Broncos look banged up, so expect the Pats to take this one and easily cover the spread.

Pick:

Buccaneers -6  (-110)

Dallas Cowboys vs Seattle Seahawks (-4.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 4:25 PM EST, Fox

Well, that one was a little too close for Jerry Jones’ comfort as the Cowboys come back in Week 2 and (thanks to the Falcons not understanding the onside kick rules) get the last-minute win, nothing three Dak Prescott rushing TDs plus one through the air and two 58-yard field goals can’t handle, but oh boy, what about those two blown fake punts?

Russell Wilson is in the groove already and can scare opponents with his elusive legs and destroy then with his arm, throwing for 5 TD passes to 5 different receivers in Week 2, with receiver DK Metcalf making the difference on offense and Jamal Adams doing the same on the other side of the ball.

The Cowboys look too sketchy right now to take care of these Seahawks, even with the points, so put your money on Wilson and the boys.

Pick:

Seattle -4.5   (-110)

Odds from DraftKings. Get up to a $1,000 sign-up bonus at DraftKings today or check out more offers and promo codes for the best online sportsbooks.

Green Bay Packers vs New Orleans Saints (-3.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 8:20 PM EST, NBC

Aaron Rodgers keeps playing huge with 4 TD passes on 364 passing yards and 32 completions, while RB Aaron Jones has been another big factor out of the Packers backfield with 18 carries for 168 yards and two touchdowns plus 4 receptions for another 68 yards and a touchdown in their Week 2 win.

New Orleans and QB Drew Brees still looked a tad rusty in the penalty department, and without injured deep threat WR Michael Thomas, Saints offense had to depend more on WR Tre’Quan Smith because Emmanuel Sanders was basically a no show.

Not sure the Saints defense can stop what Rodgers and the Packers are bringing, at least at this early point in the season, so take the Packers and the points, especially if Thomas is still out.

Pick:

Packers +3.5  (-110)

Odds from DraftKings. Get up to a $1,000 sign-up bonus at DraftKings today or check out more offers and promo codes for the best online sportsbooks.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Baltimore Ravens (-3.5)

How to watch: Sunday, Sept 27, 8:15 PM EST, ESPN

The Champion Chiefs actually looked beatable in Week 2 against the Chargers (but KC still won!), so one has to wonder how they will fare against the Ravens’ run game during this Monday Night Football matchup that could be a rehearsal of the AFC Championship game.

The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson are as ready for this matchup as they’ll ever be, their team showing up solid on both sides of the ball these first two weeks of the season, and the football world can’t wait to witness two of the conference’s young playmaking and mobile QBs face each other in this one.

Given the Ravens’ propensity for coming up a bit short in big games (typically in the postseason), I’d say take Patrick Mahomes and one of the few times his Chiefs will be given points this regular season.

Pick:

Chiefs +3.5   (-110)
