Our first prop bet selection for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final comes at the expense of Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky. We are taking the under on his save count for this game, after he had a spectacular run in the playoffs to help his team win the Eastern Conference. While that may sound like a bad idea based on his playoff performances thus far, the stats tell a different story.

This season, Bobrovsky ranked 29th in the NHL in save percentage at .901, with that number leaping up to .935 in the playoffs. What that tells us is that Bobrovsky played well above his level in the playoffs to help his team reach this point. It also tells us that those numbers are likely not sustainable, as the Panthers goaltender is likely to regress to his usual numbers here in the final.

There is also the question of how Bobrovsky will adapt to the pressure of playing in the Stanley Cup Final. It is one thing to be the hot goaltender during the earlier playoff rounds, but sustaining that during the biggest series of the year is another story. Look for Bobrovsky to struggle and for the Golden Knights to take advantage in Game 1.

My Pick: Jack Eichel anytime goalscorer (+125 at PointsBet)

Our next prop bet for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final is for Jack Eichel to score at any point in this game for the Vegas Golden Knights. This bet comes at a plus price, which is worth firing on based on Eichel’s performance against the Panthers previously this season. It is also worth playing at plus money based on the way Eichel has played in this postseason.

So far, Eichel has scored six goals for the Golden Knights in the playoffs, helping them to reach the Stanley Cup Final. He has also scored one goal across the two games in which he has played against Florida already this season. Those two elements should combine to result in at least one goal for the Vegas Center.

My Pick: Goal in the first 10 minutes (-134 at FanDuel)

Finally, we like there to be at least one goal in the first 10 minutes of this game, as both teams should come out with a ton of energy early in this one. With everything that is on the line in this matchup, offenses should come out flying, with goaltenders having to deal with the nerves associated with stopping shots on such a big stage.

In particular, the Vegas Golden Knights should be able to score the first goal of this game within 10 minutes. Vegas has done such a good job of getting off to fast starts in the playoffs, as they regularly scored first against the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Final. Look for that trend to continue, as the Golden Knights will have their home crowd in their corner in what should be a game where they start quickly once again.
