This week, both the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays are looking to lift their curses by winning their very first World Series. The seventh game, if it’s needed, even falls on Halloween this year. At WSN, we’ve also combined baseball with the spooky season to rank the most haunted stadiums in MLB.

For fans looking to add some extra thrill to the final games of the season, check out the best MLB promo code bonuses before placing your wagers.

We looked at the age of the ballparks, the nearest cemetery, reported ghost sightings in the city and the time since each team’s last World Series win (our curse factor). After scoring each factor out of ten and averaging them, we were left with a Haunted Score for every ballpark in MLB.

The Ten Most Haunted MLB Stadiums

Wrigley Field tops MLB’s most haunted ballparks: The top five, with each bar showing how much each factor adds to the Haunted Score out of 10.

Wrigley Field Tops MLB’s Most Haunted Ballparks
Each factor is scored out of 10 and counts for a quarter of the Haunted Score. Time since last World Series win calculated before the 2026 World Series. Sources: Google Maps (cemetery distance), Ghosts of America (reported ghost sightings, as of October 26, 2026), MLB.com

1. Chicago Cubs — Wrigley Field (6.23)

At 112 years old, Wrigley Field is the second-oldest ballpark in MLB, and with Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery just 0.3 miles away, it gets the highest Haunted Score of 6.23. That makes Wrigley Field 466% more haunted than the 30th-place Busch Stadium. It also means the Friendly Confines may have a few regulars who never bought a ticket.

2. San Diego Padres — Petco Park (5.99)

The Padres have never won the World Series, and San Diego has 32 reported ghost sightings, the fourth-most of any MLB city. As a result, Petco Park finishes in second place on 5.99, meaning there could be plenty of restless spirits waiting on a parade.

3. Baltimore Orioles — Oriole Park at Camden Yards (5.97)

Baltimore has 34 reported ghost sightings, joint second-most in our study, and Old Saint Paul’s Cemetery is only 0.8 miles from the ballpark. Add 43 years since the Orioles’ last title, and Camden Yards has a seriously spooky resume.

4. Tampa Bay Rays — Tropicana Field (5.81)

The Rays have never won the World Series, and Greenwood Cemetery is just 0.8 miles from the Trop, landing them in fourth with a score of 5.81. Although the Rays are currently in their first World Series since 2020, it’s been a horror show for some fans, with the Brewers already up 3–0 after three games.

They could fall down the rankings substantially if they win the next four games and clinch the series, but for now Tropicana Field stays 127% more haunted than fellow Florida ballpark, the Marlins’ LoanDepot Park.

5. Cleveland Guardians — Progressive Field (5.79)

Progressive Field is the closest ballpark to a cemetery with Erie Street Cemetery effectively across the street at just 0.2 miles away. On top of that, the Guardians’ last title came in 1948, the longest wait of any team that has won a World Series. That earns them fifth place and a score of 5.79.

6. Milwaukee Brewers — American Family Field (5.72)

The Brewers find themselves in 6th place with a Haunted Score of 5.72 thanks to Wood National Cemetery sitting just 0.3 miles from American Family Field and having never won a World Series.

That could be about to change very soon. The Brewers have three wins in the best-of-seven World Series, and already have one hand on the title. A historic first title would help to chase the drought ghost away.

7. Colorado Rockies — Coors Field (5.47)

The Rockies are another team still waiting on their first World Series title, and with Denver having 25 reported ghost sightings, they find themselves in seventh place in the rankings. The thin mountain air isn’t the only thing giving fans chills.

8. Houston Astros — Daikin Park (5.25)

Houston has 48 reported ghost sightings, the most of any MLB city in the study and actually more than the seven lowest scoring cities for ghost sightings combined. Only the Astros’ recent title, in 2022, keeps them just outside of the top five with a score of 5.25.

9. Pittsburgh Pirates — PNC Park (5.17)

Trinity Church Cemetery is just 0.6 miles from PNC Park, and it’s been 47 years since the Pirates’ last title in 1979, so they sneak their way into the top ten with a Haunted Score of 5.17. That makes PNC Park 50% more haunted than the other Pennsylvania stadium, the Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park.

10. Toronto Blue Jays — Rogers Centre (5.13)

Fort York Cemetery is 1.1 miles from Rogers Centre, and the Blue Jays haven’t won a World Series since 1993. Canada’s only representative in MLB rounds off our top ten list with a score of 5.13.

Same City, Different Spirits

Despite being within the same city, these ballparks vary when it comes to Haunted Scores.

  • Chicago: The Cubs rank first with a score of 6.23, while the White Sox have the second-least haunted stadium in MLB with a score of 2.48. Both teams share the same 21 reported ghost sightings, but Wrigley scores more than 2.5 times as high as Rate Field overall.

  • New York: The Yankees finish in 16th with a Haunted Score of 4.10, while the Mets trail behind in 26th with a score of 3.26. Although both Citi Field and Yankee Stadium opened in 2009, Flushing, home to the Mets, has just two reported ghost sightings. It’s the fewest of any MLB area in our study and far fewer than the Bronx’s 27.

State Divides

There’s further divides between the Haunted Scores across states; here’s some quick comparisons.

  • Florida: Tropicana Field scores 127% more than LoanDepot Park

  • Missouri: Kauffman Stadium has three times the score of Busch Stadium

  • Pennsylvania: PNC Park is 50% more haunted than Citizens Bank Park

  • Ohio: Progressive Field is 35% more haunted than Great American Ball Park

  • Texas: Daikin Park is 31% more haunted than Globe Life Field

  • California: Petco Park is 25% more haunted than Dodger Stadium

The Least Haunted Ballparks

If you want to stay away from spirits, these might be the baseball seats for you.

30. St. Louis Cardinals — Busch Stadium (1.10)

The St. Louis Cardinals’ Busch Stadium has the lowest Haunted Score of all, with an average of just 1.10 across all four factors.

The nearest cemetery, St. Matthew Cemetery, is 5.9 miles away, the furthest of any ballpark. St. Louis also has just eight reported ghost sightings, and with the Cardinals winning a title as recently as 2011, Busch Stadium is truly curse-free.

29. Chicago White Sox — Rate Field (2.48)

While the other Chicago club, the Cubs, tops the table, the White Sox are right down at the bottom with a score of just 2.48.

Rate Field is 5.6 miles from Oak Woods Cemetery, the second-furthest behind Busch Stadium. While they share Chicago’s 21 reported sightings with the Cubs, Rate Field is just 35 years old compared to the Cubs' 112-year old Wrigley Field.

28. Miami Marlins — LoanDepot Park (2.56)

At 14 years old, LoanDepot Park is one of the newest ballparks in MLB, and Miami has only six reported ghost sightings. It seems most ghosts prefer their ballparks a little more vintage, so the Marlins land on a score of just 2.56.

Could a World Series Win Lift the Curse?

Our rankings use each team’s title drought as it stood before the 2026 World Series, when neither the Brewers nor the Rays had ever won it. That gives both teams the spookiest possible title drought score, a full ten out of ten.

Whoever lifts the trophy goes straight from the worst possible score in that column to the best, zero years since their last title.

  • If the Brewers win: Milwaukee’s first-ever title sends its Haunted Score from 5.72 to 3.22, and the Brewers would tumble 20 places from sixth to 26th. With Milwaukee leading the series 3–0, this is the likeliest outcome.

  • If the Rays win: Tampa Bay’s score falls from 5.81 to 3.31, dropping the Rays 19 places from fourth to 23rd, while the Brewers climb to fifth.

A new champion also nudges everyone else’s scores up slightly, because a zero-year wait replaces the Dodgers’ one-year as the shortest time since a World Series win. Wrigley Field stays on top either way, and the Padres and Orioles end up tied for second.

Will a World Series Win Lift the Curse?

Both World Series teams have never won a title, the spookiest possible score for that factor. Whoever wins goes straight to the least spooky, 0 years. Here’s how the rankings change either way.

How Did We Calculate Haunted Scores?

We scored all 30 MLB ballparks on four factors:

  • Distance to the nearest cemetery: using Google Maps and selecting the shortest distance walking.

  • Ballpark age: found using MLB.com.

  • Reported ghost sightings in the ballpark's city: Ghosts of America. Ghosts of America does not list sightings for Toronto, so the Blue Jays' score is the average of the other three factors.

  • Years since the team last won the World Series: as of the start of the 2026 World Series, with teams that have never won counting as the longest wait.

For each factor, the spookiest ballpark scores ten and the least spooky scores zero. Every other ballpark is scored by its exact figure in between and the Haunted Score is the average of the four.
