Yes, Chalkboard Fantasy is a fully legitimate, mobile-first daily fantasy sports platform centered around player props. The gameplay is straightforward: choose a player, predict if they will hit "more" or "less" than a given statistic, and follow along live to win prizes. You can keep it simple or get creative by building entries that span multiple sports and leagues. In this Chalkboard Fantasy review, I’ll cover how to create an account, how the app performs, and ultimately, whether the platform is worth your time.

What Is Chalkboard Fantasy?

Chalkboard Fantasy is a Daily Fantasy Sports app that allows users to make “More” or “Less” predictions on player performance during games. Prizes are awarded based on how many picks you hit.

There is no desktop browser version of Chalkboard Fantasy. This may be a dealbreaker for some, but I felt that the mobile-only experience makes sense for most of Chalkboard Fantasy’s intended user base.

The Chalkboard Fantasy website on desktop does not provide the full sportsbook experience. Its main function is to direct users to the app, and inform them of the benefits of creating an account. You can create an account on the site, or there’s a QR code to take you straight to the App Store or Google Play Store.

The footer of the page contains links to useful areas of the site such as the Chalkboard Fantasy help center, contact details and terms of service. 

While Chalkboard Fantasy is designed for mobile, if you really want to play it on desktop you can download third-party platforms that will allow you to. It runs, but not as well.

Mobile App

The Chalkboard Fantasy mobile app provides a seamless, modern experience. 

Chalkboard Fantasy walks you through account creation and any verification needed, then drops you off at your homepage. From there, you start choosing picks straight away. 

I found the app incredibly intuitive, and found any features I needed quickly thanks to well-organised menus and simple pathways. The clean graphic design sidesteps the filler content and distracting text that some DFS platforms suffer from, so you focus on the action. 

This interface is consistent throughout the entire gameplay experience. Keeping half an eye on my picks while watching the game was fun and, yes, I made use of the “Cash Out” option: easily accessible from the “Entries” tab in the menu.

Whatever your play style, there’s a way to win at Chalkboard Fantasy. The simple game structure allows you to build a pick with a payout style and risk level to suit you. 

Social Sports Picks 

Choose 2-8 players and make "More" or "Less" predictions on the stats provided. Choose your entry amount, and you’re done. This is a great choice if you’re just starting out.

Play with Coins or CB Cash and make your entries as simple or as complicated as you’d like. Choose from the NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLB, college football and basketball, UFC, soccer, and esports like CS2 and League of Legends. I chose picks from different leagues and sports, including some from games that had already started.

Chalkboard Picks Purchases 

This is Chalkboard's real-money game, peer-to-peer Showdowns. You deposit up to $5,000 in any 24-hour period, build entries of 2 to 8 picks from $1, and compete against other players. Entries are built the same way as in Social Sports Picks, but there's no option to play for fun with Coins.

Shield Play 

I found Shield Play to be the most engaging feature at Chalkboard Fantasy. Shield Play means you still get a prize if you miss up to two picks.

Max Cash

If that doesn’t sound like enough high-rolling for you, Max Cash might provide the gameplay you’re looking for. You’ll need to get every single pick correct, but there’s big win potential waiting. 

Pulls

Pulls lets you open digital packs to win real trading cards, which ship within the US, or sell them back for credit. It's available in most Chalkboard states and is the only Chalkboard game in states like Alabama, New York, Ohio, and Michigan.

Chalkboard Fantasy Deposits & Withdrawals

You don’t need to jump through any hoops to make a deposit or withdrawal at Chalkboard Fantasy. Their process is beginner-friendly. Their KYC process is straightforward - the only documentation I had to provide was my ID and proof of address.

They don’t provide as many different payment methods as some platforms, but all the basics are covered for simple and secure transactions.

Users cannot deposit more than $5,000 in any 24-hour period. I deposited $100 for each payment method which appeared in my account, ready to use immediately. 

Withdrawals are processed at the top of each hour, 8:00 AM EST to 4:00 AM EST, 7 days a week, and typically land within 12 hours of approval. 

I requested a withdrawal of $100 using PayPal, and the payout arrived in just over a day. This is typical of Chalkboard Fantasy, with most Chalkboard Fantasy payouts arriving between 24-48 hours. This is better than most online platforms.

I found this easy - I could set my state by turning on location services, which is a faster way to communicate location than some other DFS apps offer.

2. Download the app

Download the app on your phone. Chalkboard Fantasy is available on iOS or Android. 

3. Choose your first picks

Check out what games are available. The app is intuitive and easy to use. We quickly found two players to make “More” or “Less” predictions on for our initial test, but you can choose up to eight. 

4. Watch your results

Once you’ve submitted your picks, watch the game and follow in the app to see how your chosen players are performing. You’ll be paid out based on how many picks you hit. 

You may need to verify your account before making your first deposit. My account wasn’t automatically verified, so I went through this process.

The Chalkboard Fantasy app doesn’t make you jump through any hoops - all you need is your phone and your ID. All I had to do was submit a picture of my ID, which took less than two minutes.

There’s a lot right about Chalkboard Fantasy. 

The Chalkboard Fantasy app is intuitive enough to make every service they offer fun and accessible. That’s no mean feat, given the sheer volume of sports, leagues, features and promotions on the platform. 

Chalkboard Fantasy’s great selection of play styles allows you to create a truly personalised entry. Shield Play and the Cash Out option allow for slightly less risky play, and Max Cash is perfect for high rollers looking to win up to 5,000x on a single entry.

A lack of options for desktop users is a bit of a shame for some, but I doubt it’ll make much of a difference for Chalkboard Fantasy’s tech-native audience. 

In my eyes, a comprehensive set of responsible gambling resources is a must for any trustworthy platform. Chalkboard Fantasy offers a great selection of tools, all set up in a few taps through the in-app support chat. Its library of state-specific helplines is an excellent addition to a well-rounded help center. 

There aren’t many players I wouldn’t recommend the Chalkboard Fantasy app to - it’s a yes from me.
