NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Kawhi Leonard, Tyrese Maxey & More Play-In Tournament Picks for Wednesday, April 15
If the Wednesday NBA Play-In Tournament is anything like Tuesday, these player props will have you gripping the edge of your seat until the final whistle.
The league’s postseason schedule began with an all-time thriller between the Charlotte Hornets and the Miami Heat, with heroic efforts from Coby White and LaMelo Ball in the fourth quarter and overtime to earn Charlotte a one-point victory. Deni Avdija took over in the late game, scoring 41 points and putting home the game-clencher in the Portland Trail Blazers’ narrow victory over the Phoenix Suns.
The Wednesday schedule includes a 7/8 matchup between the Orlando Magic and the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference, before turning to the 9/10 battle in the Western Conference, featuring the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Wednesday, April 15.

VJ Edgecombe Over 16.5 Points (-108) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Edgecombe, the third-overall pick in the NBA Draft, is going to take on a prominent role with Joel Embiid unavailable for tonight’s Play-In clash. He went over in eight of his last 14 games without his former MVP teammate, hitting at least 20 points in seven of those.
The Magic finished the year by ranking 20th in points allowed per game over their last 15 contests. Edgecombe split the over/under in two matchups against Orlando, but he should be in line to take a lot of shots, and the Magic are reportedly not in a great place in the locker room right now.

Paolo Banchero Over 8.5 Rebounds (-108) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Banchero had the best year of his career on the glass, snatching 8.4 rebounds per game. He also had 11 in his only matchup with Philly in 2026 and went over in three of his last five games, while the Sixers were 24th in average rebounds allowed during the final weeks of the regular season.
Banchero played more than 37 and more than 39 minutes per game in the playoffs over the last two seasons, and he should be on the floor for a long duration in tonight’s must-win battle. Embiid’s absence should give him an even clearer path to dominating the glass.

Tyrese Maxey Over 5.5 Assists (-144) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Maxey went under this line in both matchups with the Magic, and he finished the year by going under in four of his last five contests. The Magic were also just outside the top 10 in assists allowed per game over their last 15 outings, which seems to set Maxey up to go under this number.
While the past might tell one story, it doesn’t account for Maxey potentially playing 40-plus minutes in tonight’s contest. He will be in charge of making most of the team’s decisions without Embiid on the floor, and he averaged 6.8 assists per game in 44.5 minutes per game in his last appearance in the playoffs.

Kristaps Porzingis Under 18.5 Points (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook
I do not have much faith, if any at all, in Porzingis on a stage like this one. He scored 12 points on 37.5 percent shooting in his regular-season finale against these same Los Angeles Clippers, and he went under this number in all four games in April, all of which were losses.
Porzingis’ constant in-and-out of the lineup has left him without a shooting rhythm, contributing to him cashing the under nine times in 15 games with the Golden State Warriors. The Clippers are solid on defense, and it’s hard to back any Warriors player not named Stephen Curry to show out in a do-or-die environment.

Kawhi Leonard Over 7.5 Rebounds (+104) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Leonard has a habit of elevating his presence on the glass in the postseason, averaging 7.8 rebounds per game for his career. He also went over this line in five of his last eight outings and in two of three matchups against the Warriors, the most recent of which occurred on March 2.
The Dubs ranked 18th in rebounds allowed per game for the year, and their interior players are not great rebounders. Leonard could be in line to play at least 40 minutes tonight, and he’s been nothing short of dependable throughout the course of the entire year.
