NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Joel Embiid, Victor Wembanyama & More Picks for NBA Playoffs on Wednesday

As the NBA Playoffs turn the page ahead to Wednesday’s matchups, I have assembled my favorite player prop picks from around the league.

Cade Cunningham helped deliver the Detroit Pistons to a hard-fought victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers, finishing the evening with 23 points and seven assists. That’s before Chert Holmgren dominated the Los Angeles Lakers with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks, pushing the Oklahoma City Thunder ahead to a 1-0 series lead.

The Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks will kick off today’s games, following a near-40-point victory for the Knicks in Game 1. The night will finish with the Minnesota Timberwolves against the San Antonio Spurs after the Wolves stole Game 1 by two points on the road.

Here are my top NBA Playoffs player props today for Wednesday, May 6.

Best NBA Player Props Today 2026 05 06

Joel Embiid Over 26.5 Points (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Embiid and virtually the entire 76ers lineup did not look ready to play against a more rested Knicks team in Game 1 following their seven-game victory over the Boston Celtics. However, Embiid alternated between overs and unders in the first round, and ultimately averaged 28 points per game for the series.

Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson both found themselves in foul trouble early in Game 1, and Embiid and the Sixers’ history suggest they will play much better in Game 2. Embiid scored 26 and 38 points in two regular-season matchups with the Knicks, both times shooting 60 percent or better from the floor, and I believe that he can get back to those marks tonight.

OG Anunoby Under 16.5 Points (+100) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Anunoby is an awesome player who is destined to play lots of minutes in this series. But for as great as he is, averaging 21 points on 64/59/79 shooting splits, as he has in the playoffs thus far, is totally unlikely to continue for much longer.

The 28-year-old scored 18 points in only eight shots in Game 1 against a Sixers team that looked lethargic and unprepared to defend in the half-court. With a renewed effort on that end and a return to normal shooting efficiency for Anunoby, the under appears to have solid value.

Tyrese Maxey Under 2.5 Threes (-102) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Knicks weren’t a very good team when it came to defending the three-point line during the regular season, which makes what happened in Game 1 quite telling. Maxey went 0-3 from deep, taking 5.6 fewer threes than he averaged during the regular season.

The Knicks were top-locking and made a concerted effort to funnel the Sixers’ players toward the basket by running them off of the three-point line. Maxey can make teams pay at the rim, but he took five or fewer threes in three straight games, and the Knicks’ defense will make it difficult for him to go over this number.

Victor Wembanyama Over 26.5 Points (-120) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Wembanyama might’ve been a menace on defense, blocking an NBA-record 12 shots in Game 1, but he only scored 11 points on 29.4 percent shooting—far from good enough. He’s now gone under this line three times in five games in the playoffs, although he only played 12 minutes in one of the unders.

Wemby scored 29 and 39 points in two regular-season matchups with the Timberwolves, both times in January. San Antonio needs to win Game 2 in their building before heading on the road, and knowing Wemby’s mentality and typical response to adversity, I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes for 30, even 40 points tonight.

Julius Randle Over 17.5 Points (-130) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Randle might’ve only shot 40 percent from the floor in Game 1, but he managed to get to 21 points and received 41 minutes of playing time. His inefficiency in shooting the ball isn’t a great concern to me, however, because I believe that he has a very clear advantage in this series.

A master of bully ball in the post, Randle is simply too much of a freight train for the slighter Wembanyama, and he’s too big for the Spurs’ smaller wings to defend. He only hit the over one time in three regular-season meetings with the Spurs, but with Edwards slightly limited in his minutes, there should be extra scoring opportunities for Randle.
