Victor Wembanyama powered the San Antonio Spurs to a 29-point win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5,dropping 27 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks, as his team eviscerated their opponents in the second half.

Tonight's matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons will also mark a crucial Game 5, as the team that goes ahead 3-2 wins the series more than 80 percent of the time. The Pistons were up 2-0 but dropped both road games, leading into tonight’s showdown.

James Harden Over 4.5 Rebounds (-136) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Sports betting is almost always a game of numbers and analysis — but Harden tests the limits of that approach. There’s a lot more psychology involved with him, given his history of playoff shortcomings, and it’s a primary reason why I am backing his rebounding total to go over this number.

Harden grabbed eight and six rebounds on the road to start the series before he had two and zero in the last two games at home, both wins. My belief here is that the pressure on the road causes him to shrink and become less involved in the offense, which has also given him more freedom on the glass. He also went over in six of 11 playoff games thus far.

Jalen Duren Over 11.5 Points (-138) at FanDuel Sportsbook

I’m utterly shocked as to what’s happened to Duren in the playoffs, as he went from averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds during the regular season to 10.2 points and 8.5 rebounds in the postseason. Importantly for this prop, his field goal attempts per game dropped from 11.5 to 7.9, and his average free-throw attempts are down from 6.1 to 3.3.

While all of that is incredibly troubling, this is still a very low line for a player who has scoring ability. He scored eight points in 27 minutes in Game 4 and 11 points in 29 minutes in Game 3, so I can only imagine he could still hit the over if he plays, dare I say, usual starter minutes.

Donovan Mitchell Under 2.5 Threes (+118) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Mitchell is a phenomenal scorer coming off a 43-point eruption that included four made threes. That said, he split the over/under in this series and only shot 30.8 percent from beyond the arc while going under in four of his last six contests.

The Pistons held their playoff opponents to 32.8 percent shooting from three after they were the stingiest team in basketball during the regular season. Ausar Thomspon and company do not freely give up breathing space to anyone, and even the high-volume-shooting Mitchell has to work very hard to get a lot of his attempts in the air.

Tobias Harris Under 1.5 Assists (+132) at FanDuel Sportsbook

I absolutely love this NBA player prop today, largely because of the value. Harris might’ve dished out five helpers in a Game 4 loss, but he averaged 2.5 assists per game during the regular season and went under in seven of 11 playoff games thus far.

Harris is a bit of a black hole in the sense that once he receives the ball, he’s going to take a shot. On the rare occasion that he decides to pass, the Pistons are the least-efficient team from the field that is still left in the playoffs, which inherently limits the team’s assist possibilities.

Cade Cunningham Under 26.5 Points (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook

We’ve reached the stage in the playoffs, and in this series, where games truly begin to slow down. A slower pace of play results in fewer possessions, limiting the raw statistical output for everyone involved.

Cunningham has been the driving force of his team throughout the playoffs, although he went under in three of four games in this series. He’s also had a turnover issue that has played into his team getting fewer looks at the basket, and I think the Cavaliers have just enough to keep him under.
