How Underdog Pick'em Works

Underdog's Pick'em product simplifies daily fantasy by replacing salary caps with direct player stat evaluations. Instead of drafting an entire squad against other users, you evaluate single-player stat projections set by Underdog and select whether a player will finish with More or Less than that specific number.

Rules & Payout Multipliers

A Pick'em entry requires a minimum of 2 players from 2 different teams.

Entry Types:

• Standard Entry (Power Play): Every pick in your entry must hit to win. Payouts scale upwards based on entry size (e.g., a 2-pick entry pays 3×, a 3-pick entry pays 6×, and a 5-pick entry pays 20×).

• Flex Play: Provides payout protection if one selection fails, yielding a lower multiplier for a perfect card while still paying out if you hit 4 out of 5 picks.

Concrete Walk-Through Example

Imagine setting up a 2-pick Standard Entry for the Sabres vs. Blue Jackets game:

1. Pick 1: Tage Thompson (BUF) - More than 3.5 Shots on Goal

2. Pick 2: Zach Werenski (CBJ) - More than 0.5 Assists

If you put a $20 entry on this 2-pick card and both players successfully achieve their stat targets, your entry hits at a 3× multiplier, delivering a $60 total payout ($40 net profit + your $20 original stake returned).

Buffalo Sabres vs. Columbus Blue Jackets: Players in the Spotlight

Buffalo Sabres

• Tage Thompson (Center): Thompson remains the engine of Buffalo's top offensive unit. Historically dangerous on the power play, Thompson consistently triggers a high volume of shot attempts reaching 40 goals and generating frequent multi-shot performances throughout the 2025-26 campaign.

• Rasmus Dahlin (Defenseman): Anchoring the Sabres' blueline, Dahlin leads the transition game and logs massive minutes. Coming off a 55-assist season, he regularly generates point opportunities through secondary assists and power-play point control.

• Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (Goaltender): Expected to get significant work, Luukkonen recorded 22 wins with a solid .910 save percentage last season. His save totals offer regular intrigue when Buffalo faces high-event offensive teams.

Columbus Blue Jackets

• Zach Werenski (Defenseman): Werenski serves as Columbus's premier playmaker from the back end, coming off a campaign with 59 assists. He routinely eclipses 24+ minutes of ice time per game and handles first-unit power-play duties.

• Adam Fantilli (Center): Fantilli continues to show high-ceiling scoring capability, racking up 24 goals last season as a key top-six center. His aggressive driving of the net makes him a primary target for points and shot volume.

• Jet Greaves / Cam Talbot (Goaltending): Columbus relies heavily on its netminders to weather high shot counts, making goaltender save metrics a key focus whenever Columbus hosts top-heavy scoring squads.
