WNBA Player Props and Predictions: Our Top Six Plays of the Day

There are three WNBA games scheduled tonight: the Washington Mystics vs. the Connecticut Sun, the Portland Fire vs. the Chicago Sky, and the Atlanta Dream vs. the Golden State Valkyries. Between them, bettors have some great WNBA Player Prop markets to bet on.

The nightcap (Atlanta vs. Golden State) is the marquee matchup of the night. But bettors certainly shouldn’t overlook the other two games when looking for player props to put money on.

Washington Mystics vs. Connecticut Sun

• Sonia Citron, Over 17.5 Points at -104

Citron is averaging 18.3 points per game this season and has gone over this total in three of her last four games, including a 26-point night against the Sun about a week ago (June 17). It is a little concerning that she’s gone over this total in less than half of her games this season (7-15).

But she’ll benefit from playing one of the worst defenses in the league (88.3 points per game; No. 11 in the league). Don’t expect another 26-point night, but she’ll go over her total once again.

• Britney Griner, Over 17.5 Pts + Reb at -106

She is averaging 12.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this season,  which explains the low total compared to her recent work. Griner has gone over this total in her last two games and in six of the ten she has played in.

The concern here is that she could disappear, like she did the last time the Sun played Washington (six points and three rebounds). But look for Griner to keep the good times rolling and have her third solid game in a row.

Portland Fire vs. Chicago Sky

• Carla Leite, Over 5.5 Assists at -144

Leite leads the Fire in assists this season at 5.6 per game. She has gone over this total in four of her last five games, including her last game (June 24) vs. Chicago. With those four, she has gone over this total in eight of 15 games this season.

Opponents have been dishing out 20.8 assists per game against the Sky in Chicago. Because of her recent success and Chicago’s woes at home, feel good about taking the over.

• Bridget Carleton, Under 12.5 Points at -110

She is averaging 13+ points per game so far this season and has two 20+ point games in her last four. However, she has gone over this total just three times this month (3-5) and in eight of 15 games this season. In Wednesday’s game against the Sky, she scored just seven points.

The two 20-point nights indicate she can go over this total, but the bulk of her work suggests the Under is the way to go.

Atlanta Dream vs. Golden State Valkyries

• Gabby Williams,  Over 16.5 Points at +100

Normally, I prefer to avoid point total overs for players facing Atlanta because the Dream are a solid defensive team. But Williams just put up 23 on the Dream Wednesday night and has gone over this total in five of her last eight games.

So, there is reason to think she can do it again. At +100, it is a solid value play.

• Angel Reese, Over 25.5 Pts + Reb at -114

I started out looking for a market with an under I could pick with the Dream going up against one of the tougher defenses in the WNBA. But then I noticed this one. While she finished under the total for this market in her last two games, she went over it in the previous six.

I’m a little concerned that we may see another defensive standoff that will keep offensive numbers down. But I think the Dream will figure out how to generate some more offense in this game and send this market over its listed total.
