Of course, when there are several great markets, it can be challenging to decide which one(s) to go with. That’s what I’m here for. The following are my best WNBA Player Prop picks for Friday, August 7.

Phoenix Mercury vs. Connecticut Sun

  • Kelsey Plum, Over 17.5 Points at -128

Plum got her first start for Phoenix  Wednesday against Atlanta. Despite facing a tough Dream defense, she had a solid 19-point night in 26 minutes on the floor. It was her second game over this total with the Mercury and her tenth out of 14 games played this season.

Connecticut’s defense is not going to be nearly as challenging; the Sun struggle to defend against guards,  allowing 48.2 points per game. Nine players scored 17.5+ points against the Sun in their last ten games.

Plum should have no problem going over her total against this defense.

  • Kahleah Copper, Over 20.5 Points at -130

Copper was held in check by the Atlanta defense on Wednesday, scoring only 14 points, ending her streak of four consecutive games with 20.5+ points. But she will be facing a much easier defense tonight, one that tends to struggle against guards.

Prior to Wednesday’s 14-point night, Copper had scored over this total in 11 of her last 14 games. She’ll have to share shots with Kelsey Plum now, but against this defense, there will be plenty to go around for both players to go over their respective totals.

Atlanta Dream vs. Washington Mystics

  • Angel Reese, Under 28.5 Pts + Reb + Ast at -108

Reese has gone over this total in eight of her last ten games, including a July 2 game vs. Washington. Washington has been playing solid defense in recent weeks, but they still had four players go over this total in the last five games. So, why am I going with the Under?

Because Washington has been on a roll with five straight wins. They’ve been playing well on both ends of the court and will probably want to prove to themselves and the Dream that they have playoff potential. Winning six consecutive games will go a long way towards that.

But to win, they’ll have to hold  Reese under this total.

Golden State Valkyries vs. Dallas Wings

  • Paige Bueckers, Under 19.5 Points at -114

Bueckers is averaging 20.1 points per game this season and has gone over this total in six of her last ten games. However, if you break the sample size down a bit more,  you see she went over this total in only one of her last four. Earlier in the year, she scored 15 against the Valkyries.

There have been four 20+ point games against Golden State in their last five games, so it is possible. But the Dallas offense has not been playing well (108.3 offensive rating over the last five games). So, I’m not counting on Bueckers to put up 20.

  • Gabby Williams, Under 1.5 Made Threes at -114

No one shoots as many 3-pointers as the Valkyries. While she is not one of the team’s primary perimeter shooters, Williams averages 1.8 per 5.0 attempts per game this season. However, in recent games, she has not done as well, averaging 1.3 per 4.0 attempts.

But in the last five games, teams have shot 28.8% from 3-point range against the Wings, with only six made shots per 20.8 attempts a game. Golden State will take some shots because that’s what they do, but don’t count on anyone making too many, especially Williams.
