The WNBA gets a step closer to the weekend tonight with a pair of games: the Portland Fire vs. the Washington Mystics and the New York Liberty vs. the Dallas Wings. As is often the case, it should be a great night for betting on our WNBA Player Props and Best Bets.

Portland Fire vs. Washington Mystics

• Kiki Iriafen, Over 10.5 Rebounds at -102

Iriafen is averaging 9.7 rebounds per game this season but has been on a roll in recent games with 11+ in five of her last seven games (she had 10 and nine in the other two). In that stretch, she had 11 vs. Portland in the 4OT game.

Teams have averaged around 33 rebounds per game against the Fire this season. Iriafen likely will not get four overtimes again, but her recent form should help her grab 11+ boards against Portland’s weak defense.

• Shakira Austin, Under 15.5 Points at -118

Austin is averaging close to this total this season (14.1 points) and has gone over this total in three of her last four game. However, she has finished under this total in ten of her last 13 games. Washington has been playing solid defense and even ranks first in points allowed over the last three games with 67.7 points allowed per game.

• Emily Engstler, Over 16.5 Pts + Reb at -118

Washington’s defense is a concern, but it should focus more on Carla Leite and Bridget Carlerton than Engstler. She averages 9.3 points and 5.5 rebounds and has met or topped both marks in five straight games. Since she will not be the focus of the defense, she’ll have a solid opportunity to make it six in a row tonight.

New York Liberty vs. Dallas Wings

• Paige Bueckers, Over 21.5 Points at -108

Bueckers has gone over this total in seven of her last eight games.  Normally, I’d think the Liberty defense could contain her and keep her under 20. But not this time. New York has been struggling on the defensive end, giving up 90.3 points per game over their last three.

However, one of those games was against Dallas, where they held Bueckers to 15 points. Concerning? Of course, but she responded to the 15-point night with a 34-point one a day later. She’ll be fine tonight.

• Jonquel Jones, Over 9.5 Rebounds at -112

She is averaging 9.3 rebounds per game this season but has been doing significantly better during July, with 10+ in her last four games. She had 12 rebounds in the July 7 matchup with Dallas. New York has been struggling a bit in the last three games (all losses).

But Jones has still had solid days on the boards with 10+ in her last four games. The Wings will make her work for it, but she’ll pull down at least ten rebounds tonight.

• Jessica Shepard, Over 27.5 Pts + Reb at -110

Look at her season as a whole, and this prop looks 50-50 at best as she’s gone under this total in 13 of 24 games. But Shepard has been on a roll in recent games, scoring 19+ in three of her last four games, pulling down 10+ boards in her last four, and finishing over this total in her last four. She had a triple-double in the game against New York (July 7) with 22/12/11.

Normally, I’d hesitate to take the over here against New York, but the Libert have been playing questionable defense during their three-game losing streak. I don’t see them turning it around against the Wings in Dallas.
