Okay, since that’s been covered, let’s get right to it and talk about WNBA player props (check the latest injury report before placing any wagers).

Phoenix Mercury vs. Los Angeles Sparks

• Kahleah Copper, Over 21.5 Points at -120

Copper has finished under this total in three of her last four games, but over it in six of her last nine. Teams have averaged 94 points per game against Los Angeles over their last five, with three players scoring over this total and two more recording 20 each.

Los Angeles has been poor on the defensive end of the court all season, and there is no reason to think this game will be any different. It wouldn’t be shocking to see this game turn into a track meet. Don’t count on Copper scoring 41 vs. LA as she did earlier in the season, but she’ll have a good game.

Minnesota Lynx vs. Seattle Storm

• Napheesa Collier, Under 14.5 Points at -135

The news broke Tuesday night that Collier is probable to make her return today against the Seattle Storm. If she does, don’t expect her to play much or push too hard. The idea here is likely just to get her back on the court and then off of it injury-free.

After a trial run in this game, she’ll be off until next Tuesday, giving her plenty of time to recover. Definitely don’t count on her to record many (if any) stats in this game.

• Kayla McBride, Over 17.5 Points at -118

McBride is averaging 18.1 points per game this season, so when I saw Napheesa Collier may come back, I leaned toward the under for McBride’s point total because Collier’s shots are going to have to come from someone (and it will not be Olivia Miles).

Now, she could lose a few shots if Collier comes back. But McBride has averaged 27.5 points per game over her last seven. Collier can take some of her shots, and McBride will still be a solid bet to go over this total.

Chicago Sky vs. New York Liberty

• Breanna Stewart, Over 21.5 Points at -120

The Liberty has not had the offensive fans know and love lately (88 points per game over the last five; ninth best in the league for that stretch). But that doesn’t mean Stewart has been off. She averaged 27.2 ppg over the last six despite only scoring 17 vs. Minnesota.

Chicago has allowed teams to average 92.6 points per game over the last five. In four of their last five, they’ve had one player score over 21.5 points. Take the over.

• Sabrina Ionescu, Over 2.5 Made Threes at +124

It has been a tough road back for Ionescu, but she has been getting better and better every week, it seems. She has certainly begun to find her shot from behind the line more often. IN her last seven games, she has made at least two 3-pointers a game and 3+ in four.

Chicago has limited teams to 8.2 made 3-pointers a game but has had three players make 3+ in three of their last five games. That doesn’t mean Ionescu will do it, but it sure helps make this prop a solid value play.

Las Vegas Aces vs. Washington Mystics

• A’ja Wilson, Under 23.5 at -102

Wilson is arguably the best player in the WNBA, capable of going off for a monster game on any given night. However, while she has gone over this total in 13 of the 23 games she has played in this season, she finished under in two of the last three and five out of the last 10.

But Washington has had the No. 1 rated defense over the last five games (99.7; the only team under 100). The Mystics have held teams to 74.4 points per game in that stretch, and only Natisha Hiedeman has scored over this total.

To be fair, Washington hasn’t played anyone like Wilson, but their defense has been stellar.

• Shakira Austin, Over 14.5 Points at -114

• Shakira Austin, Over 9.5 Rebounds at -122

• Shakira Austin, Over 27.5 Pts + Reb + Ast at -104

Austin is averaging 14.5 points per game this season but has averaged 19.2 over her last five games and finished over this total in six of seven games this month. Her rebounding has been a little less reliable, as she has gone over this total in four of seven games this month but had nine in two of the others.

She has been leading the charge for the Mystics on the offensive end of the court in recent games. Las Vegas has been one of the better defensive teams, but Austin is shooting well enough and getting enough shots to go over 14.5 points.

Opponents have been rebounding well, so I’d lean towards taking the over. But I’m less confident in her rebound total. However, she has gone over the combo total in half of her games this season and in four of her last five.

She averages 2.6 rebounds per game. If we can count on her for two, Austin has recorded over 25.5 points and rebounds in six of her last seven games.

Connecticut Sun vs. Indiana Fever

• Kelsey Mitchell, Over 22.5 Points at -104

Mitchell has scored over this prop in ten of 13 games, including eight of her last nine games. The only team to hold her under was Golden State, the highest-rated defense in the WNBA (100.9). Connecticut has had a 103.6 defensive rating (third best in the league).

I’m a little concerned about the Sun defense but more concerned she may get pulled early if the game turns into a blowout. That being said, when a player has been on a streak like she has, you ride it until the end.

• Sophie Cunningham, Over 8.5 Points at -114

Cunningham averages 9.4 points and has topped this total in 15 of 25 games, including six of her last eight. As a bench player, her minutes vary, but before the break against a poor team, the Fever may lean more on role players like her and take it easy on the starters.

Guards have been averaging just under 48 points a game against the Sun. Mitchell and Clark will account for most of it, but Cunningham will be good for 10+ in this game.

Dallas Wings vs. Portland Fire

• Jessica Shepard, Over 15.5 Points at -108

Shepard has averaged 154.8 points per game this season but has stepped up in recent games. Over her last five, she has averaged 17 points per game but finished under this total in her last two games. However, she went over it in the previous three.

She is not going to be the primary scorer, so if Paige Bueckers ends up playing, consider passing on this one. But since they sat Bueckers on Monday, it would not make sense to play her tonight. If Bueckers is out, Shepard goes over this total.

• Carla Leite, Over 15.5 Points at +102

To be fair, her production can be a little sporadic; in her last six games, she scored 21, 14, 18, 13, 13, and 20. She only had ten when these two teams met on June 13, but in the 11 games since then, she has led the team with an average of 17.2 points per game.

The Wings have a top-three defense at home, but on the road, it ranks 11^th with 90.4 points per game allowed. At +102, this is a solid value play.
