Phoenix Mercury vs. Atlanta Dream

• Kelsey Plum, Over 16.5 Points at +104

We don’t know how much playing time she’ll get in this game. But we do know she is one of the most prolific scorers in the league. The Mercury took it easy on Plum in her first game back Monday night. She only played 21 minutes off the bench and still scored 20 points.

While we think of Atlanta as a solid defensive team, the Dream allowed 92.4 points per game over the last five. That sounds like a team she should score more than 16.5 points, as long as she gets at least 20 minutes of playing time.

Seattle Storm vs. New York Liberty

• Dominique Malonga, Over 15.5 Points at -102

When these two teams met on Monday, it wasn’t an overly competitive game. The Liberty easily won, 95-83. Look back a little further, and we can see that New York has won six of its last seven. That’s despite allowing up to 98.3 points per game over that stretch.

With New York making up for its poor defense by running up the scoreboard, a door opens for Malonga to go over her point total. She’ll get it done in garbage time, if not sooner.

Dallas Wings vs. Washington Mystics

• Paige Bueckers, Over 19.5 at -115 (DraftKings)

Washington has been playing solid defense lately, but that doesn’t mean we should expect them to slow Bueckers down. Yes, she has had a couple of off nights since the All-Star Break. But sandwiched between those games was a 23-point night against Washington.

She has gone over this total just once in her last four games but has done so in nine of her last 13. Bueckers has been playing like a potential MVP candidate for much of the season. We can count on her to bounce back from Sunday’s six-point game vs. Connecticut.

Los Angeles Sparks vs. Chicago Sky

• Sydney Taylor, Over 18.5 Points at +102

Taylor put up 14 points in the loss to Phoenix Monday and has gone over this total four times in her last eight games. But the Sky offense has been at its best when she gets involved. That should not be hard to do against a defense allowing 94.3 points per game.

Her usage has fluctuated the last few games, but if the pattern holds, she should see the ball in her hands early and often tonight. Against a team that can’t defend guards (guards average 53.8 ppg vs. the Sparks this season), it would be the smart thing to do.

Taylor is listed as questionable for tonight’s game, so be sure to check the injury report.

• Kamilla Cardoso, Under 15.5 Points at -102 (DraftKings)

Cardoso is averaging 14.3 points per game this season and had 16 in her last game Monday vs. Phoenix. But she has gone over this total just twice in her last nine games. While she is facing arguably the worst defense in the WNBA tonight, it is not a good matchup for her.

Not so much because the Sparks are tough on centers, but because they are so lax against guards. The smart play for the Sky would be to feed Sydney Taylor and the guards the ball all night long.
