The round of 32 comes to an end today, but before we move onto the last 16, we have listed our recommended FIFA World Cup props for the three matches taking place in North America on Friday. Argentina, the defending champion, is among the teams in action.

A prop bet centers on what happens during a game, not simply which team comes out on top. Here are our preferred World Cup player props and team picks for the three games on the schedule today, including the return to action of Lionel Messi.

Australia vs. Egypt

One of Australia or Egypt will reach the last 16 today, and the other will be going home.

Either Team to Advance in Penalty Shootout ($0.28) at Kalshi

We have seen plenty of tight ties in the round of 32 so far and this looks set to be another game of fine margins. The best online sportsbooks and prediction markets have Egypt down as the favorite, but Australia will not mind being the underdog. In some ways, that actually suits a side that delivered a defensive masterclass in its first game, a 2-0 victory over Turkey.

Australia advanced from Group D as the runner-up. It lost 2-0 to the USA a few days after that defeat of Turkey, before closing out the first stage of the tournament with a goalless tie against Paraguay. As those results illustrate, Australia does not give much away. It is an honest, hard-working team that is well organized out of possession.

In a blow to Egypt’s chances of reaching the next round, Mohamed Salah is a major fitness doubt for this one. Salah is past his peak at the age of 34, but he is still the talismanic figure in this Egypt team. Even if he makes himself available for the game, Salah will not be 100 percent fit.

It is hard to pick a winner here, and we envisage this game going all the way. Back either team to advance via a penalty shoot-out at $0.28 with Kalshi.

Argentina vs. Cape Verde

The defending champion Argentina takes on the last remaining debutant in Cape Verde.

Argentina to Win the First Half ($0.63) at Kalshi

Argentina is the focus of the next part of our daily World Cup team props. Lionel Scaloni’s side was one of only three to amass maximum points in the group stage, alongside Mexico and France. Argentina played some wonderful soccer, with Lionel Messi proving there is still life in the old dog yet with his performances against Algeria and Austria in particular.

Argentina is striving to make history this summer. Never before in World Cup history has a team retained the trophy outside its own continent. The Albiceleste continues its quest for glory in North America against Cape Verde, a team which has been one of the most heartwarming stories of this tournament.

The debutant tied all three games in the group stage, most memorably a 0-0 stalemate with Spain on matchday one. It is the only unbeaten team in World Cup history, but Cape Verde’s journey will surely come to an end at the hands of Messi and co.

Cape Verde would love to get to half-time with the score level, but that is a big ask given the quality at the disposal of its opponent. Buy Argentina to win the first half at $0.63 with Kalshi.

Lionel Messi to Provide An Assist ($0.33) at Kalshi

Lionel Messi waited until May to confirm his participation at World Cup 2026, his sixth overall. Argentina fans must be delighted and relieved in equal parts that he decided to come along for the ride. The 39-year-old icon is the centerpiece of the soccer player props odds we are looking at here.

Messi scored six goals in the group stage. He kick-started his campaign with a tremendous hat-trick against Algeria, before the Inter Miami man notched a double against Austria. He began the game against Jordan on matchday three as a substitute, but Messi came on in the second half and scored a customary free-kick (albeit with the help of the opposition goalkeeper).

Argentina has scored eight times so far and Messi has been responsible for 75 percent of them. But the Barcelona legend is not just a converter of chances; he creates them too. Against a deep defense like Cape Verde, Messi’s craft and invention will be just as important as his finishing ability.

Our second selection for Argentina vs Cape Verde is Messi to provide an assist, a position you can take up on Kalshi for $0.33.

Colombia vs. Ghana

The round of 32 concludes with this clash between Colombia and Ghana.

Under 2.5 Goals ($0.59) at Kalshi

The round of 32 concludes with Colombia vs Ghana today. This match represents a fascinating clash of styles, as Colombia’s attacking approach meets Ghana’s defense-minded game plan. There is more than one way to win a soccer match, and Colombia and Ghana will hope their method prevails in this high-stakes contest.

Colombia likes to play at a high tempo. It moves the ball forward quickly and looks to get as many bodies as possible in advanced areas. Its principal problem in the group stage was its profligacy in front of goal. It took an age to finally break down DR Congo on matchday two, before failing to score in the 0-0 tie with Portugal.

Ghana successfully shut out England in the group phase and it will aim to similarly frustrate Colombia here. Carlos Queiroz will ensure his team does not overcommit in attack, instead focusing on closing down space and getting players behind the line of the ball. Ghana will defend deep in a bid to make the game as difficult as possible for Colombia.

In four of the six group games involving one of these two teams, under 2.5 goals were scored. That is our pick here for $0.59 with Kalshi.
