Norway vs. England Prop Bets

Norway and England go head-to-head in an all-European World Cup quarter-final today, setting the stage for a thrilling encounter that has dominated recent World Cup predictions.

Both Teams to Score ($0.60) at Polymarket

We kick off our daily World Cup team props recommendations with Norway vs England. This match has been billed in some quarters as a clash between Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, two of the best strikers in world soccer. That is an overly simplistic characterization of the game, but it is certainly true that those two players will be key to their respective team’s chances of progression.

Haaland demonstrated his quality in the round of 16, scoring twice as Norway beat Brazil 2-1. That was the greatest result in the history of the national team, as the five-time champion was stunned by Stale Solbakken’s side. Haaland has now scored seven goals this World Cup, which is one more than Kane. Both players are having excellent tournaments.

With Haaland and Kane on the field, it is hard to see either team keeping a clean sheet. Not that Norway and England are one-man teams. Jude Bellingham has been just as good as his England team-mate Kane so far this summer. Norway’s Martin Odegaard is an elite creator.

Norway has not kept a clean sheet at this World Cup, while England has conceded in both its knockout games. Go for both teams to score at $0.60 at Polymarket.

England Over 1.5 Goals ($0.54) at Polymarket

In its five games in North America, Norway has scored 12 goals. It has struck at least twice in each of its matches, a record which the likes of France, Spain and England cannot match. But it has had problems at the other end, as shown by its failure to shut a single opponent out. Norway’s defense will be tested once again today.

England has not exactly been free-scoring throughout the tournament. It drew a blank in a frustrating 0-0 draw with Ghana, for instance, as Thomas Tuchel’s team failed to break down a stubborn low block. But in its four other games, it has scored at least twice: four goals against Croatia, two against Panama and DR Congo, and three against Mexico.

Norway will not simply pack men behind the ball and look to spoil. There will be space for England’s attackers to operate in, with Kane and Bellingham leading the charge. England has what it takes to score more than once here, so go for over 1.5 goals for Tuchel’s side. That prediction costs $0.54 at Polymarket.

Argentina vs. Switzerland Prop Bets

Argentina continues its quest for back-to-back World Cup triumphs against Switzerland.

Argentina to Win Second Half ($0.51) at Polymarket

Argentina has not had the smoothest path to the quarter-finals of the World Cup. The group stage was serene enough, with Lionel Scaloni’s men one of only three sides to collect maximum points (alongside Mexico and France). But the first two knockout rounds threw up stiffer challenges than any Argentinian imagined.

First up was that epic encounter against Cape Verde. The African debutant was level at 2-2 with just 10 minutes of extra time remaining, before Argentina finally broke its resistance. Another 3-2 win followed against Egypt in the round of 16, but on that occasion Argentina had to come from two goals down with 11 minutes of regulation time remaining. It has not been smooth sailing for the world champion over the last week or so.

Still, Argentina is alive and it remains one of the favorites to lift the trophy. Switzerland stands in its way in the last eight, and although Murat Yakin’s men should not be underestimated, Argentina is widely fancied to triumph in this tie.

Scaloni’s side has made a habit of coming on strong in the latter stages of recent games. It has won the second half in three of its five outings this summer, and will back itself to do so again today - tip Argentina to do so at $0.51 with Polymarket.

Lionel Messi Anytime Goalscorer ($0.53) at Polymarket

We conclude today’s previews with a look at soccer player props odds, namely those in the anytime scorer market. Lionel Messi is the obvious pick here, so our recommendation is not exactly an original one. But sports betting is all about making the right call whether or not it is exciting.

Messi has had a stunning impact on this World Cup. Even at 39 years of age, he has shown himself to be one of the best players on the planet. Messi has scored eight goals up to now, more than anyone else before the quarter-finals began. It is a phenomenal return, especially when you remember he brings more to the table than just goals.

Switzerland kept a clean sheet against Colombia last time out, but that was against an opponent which has struggled for goals all tournament long. Its backline will be tested much more rigorously by Argentina in general and Messi in particular. The Barcelona legend has scored in 100 percent of his appearances at this tournament, and we do not anticipate that streak ending today. Choose Messi to score anytime at $0.53 with Polymarket.
