BetMGM Becomes Preferred Sportsbook of USA Today Network
BetMGM Sportsbook just scored a significant win in the sports betting industry.
Gannett Media has announced a new partnership with BetMGM, making it the preferred sportsbook of the USA Today Network. The deal means that the network, which is in 200 markets in the US, will be using BetMGM’s odds when covering sports betting. That gives the brand a significant boost in brand recognition in a hyper-competitive industry.
"Their unrivaled reach at a local and national level enables us to connect with a massive audience," BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said of the deal. "By integrating odds and insights seamlessly into Gannett’s content, we're empowering fans to stay informed and engaged with their favorite teams and games.”
The USA Today Network’s most prominent publication is the USA Today newspaper, but it also includes smaller papers from 43 states. That means the BetMGM brand will be showcased in morning papers nationwide, leading some to use their sportsbook when placing bets.
BetMGM will be replacing Tipico as the network's preferred sportsbook. The old partnership was supposed to last for two more years but ended abruptly when the operators decided to pull its sportsbook from the US market. While the sudden exit left the USA Today Network scrambling to find a replacement, they now have a far more stable and popular partner.
Deal Marks Another Win for BetMGM
The deal between BetMGM and Gannett Media comes just a few months after the operator finalized a partnership with the Associated Press. The new partnership was announced in May, with the operator replacing FanDuel as the publication’s preferred sportsbooks.
BetMGM also has formed a partnership with social media site “X.” It was the first deal between a sportsbook and social media site, once again handing the Las Vegas-based operator a significant victory.
In addition to the new partnerships, BetMGM also won Operator and Employer of the Year Awards over the summer.
