Elys Gaming Technology announced a new agreement with Caesars Entertainment that will allow them to launch their first mobile sportsbook in Colorado. The deal gives Elys access to the US market for the first time. The company has made deals with other sportsbooks in the US, but Elys would supply technology to support the sportsbook. The Vegas-based company operates some retail sportsbooks across the US but will now expand into the mobile sports betting industry.
Elys’s new sportsbook will be Sportbet, which will only live in the Centennial State. The new sportsbook will be run by the 5D by Elys mobile app. While the new partnership gives Elys market access to Colorado, few details are known about when the sportsbook will launch or what it will offer.
“We are focused on converting recent investments in technology and infrastructure into revenue-generating business in the US,” Elys executive chairman Mike Ciavarella said. “Our meticulous market analysis, conducted before our entry into the US B2C online segment, has allowed us to create an effective go-to-market strategy along with a cutting-edge product that we believe will be rapidly adopted by North American sports bettors.
The move to launch Sportsbet comes at a delicate time for Elys. The company was recently delisted from Nasdaq after being unable to keep share prices above $1.
Once Sportsbet goes live, it will once again give Colorado bettors 20 online sportsbooks to choose from. While the larger operators have succeeded in the Centennial State, many smaller ones have quickly exited after failing to grab a foothold. FanDuel and DraftKings alone account for almost 80% of all wagers.
Elys has promised their new sportsbook will have a unique gaming style for Colorado, helping them succeed where other sportsbooks have failed. The company has spent time studying the industry to see if they can improve on areas that caused it.
