Newly named All-NBA Defensive First Team member Luguentz Dort takes the court for the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 2. His defensive contributions have been central to the team’s success, and his activity on the glass is key as the Thunder play small against the Timberwolves.
Through the NBA Playoffs, Luguentz Dort is averaging 7.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.8 threes per game on 33.7% from the field and 28.2% from three. It’s his worst playoff campaign offensively, but he’s coming off a Game 2 showing where he put up nine points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two made threes on 33.3% shooting.
More of an on-ball stopper, Dort has collected over 3.5 rebounds in five of his 13 appearances this postseason. As the Thunder look to run against the imposing Timberwolves frontcourt, Dort has shown that he can effectively contribute on the glass.

Anthony Edwards returns to Minnesota down 0-2 in the series despite confident words going into the Western Conference Finals. He bounced back after an unimpressive Game 1 showing and will try to help his team earn their first win this series.
In 12 appearances in the NBA Playoffs, Anthony Edwards is averaging 26.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 3.3 threes per game on 44.4% from the field and 36.1% from three-point range. In Game 2, Edwards put up 32 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and made one three on 46.2% shooting and 11.1% from three.
Edwards’ proficiency from three-point range is undeniable, hitting over 3.5 threes in six of his 12 appearances this postseason. The Thunder have done their best to limit him in two games so far but expect Edwards to be hyper-aggressive with his offense in his first home game of the series.

Alex Caruso’s bench contributions have bolstered the Oklahoma City Thunder on both ends of the court this postseason. Putting up the best playoff production of his career, Caruso has benefitted from Oklahoma City’s game plan despite coming off the bench.
In 13 appearances for the Thunder this postseason, Caruso is averaging 9.2 points, 2.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.8 threes per game on 47.8% from the field and 44.4% from three-point range. In Game 2, Caruso scored nine points, two rebounds, assists, and steals and made one three on 57.1% shooting.
Caruso has been excellent from three during this playoff run, hitting over 1.5 threes in seven appearances. He has become the designated paint defender through the Second Round and West Finals, benefiting from his three-point opportunities on the other side of the court.

Jaden McDaniels was impressive in Game 2 for the Timberwolves, but he was ultimately frustrated by newly named MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Expect McDaniels to maintain his form going into Game 3, as the Timberwolves need him to contribute on offense to keep pace with the Thunder.
McDaniels has the best postseason of his career, averaging 15.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 threes per game on 55.3% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point range. In Game 2, McDaniels posted 22 points, two rebounds, three blocks, and four made threes on 53.3% shooting and 50.0% from deep.
A key figure in the Timberwolves’ offense this postseason, McDaniels scored over 13.5 points in seven appearances so far. A blue-collar player willing to score at any opportunity, expect McDaniels to step up again as Julius Randle struggles.

Oklahoma City Thunder -2.5 (-112): The Thunder are on a roll, and despite being on a roll, they don’t project to slow down as the series shifts to Minnesota. Their offense has been unstoppable in two games, and the plodding Timberwolves defense hasn’t been able to contain them.
Anthony Edwards 3+ Made Threes (-210): Anthony Edwards is a rising star but still shows inexperience and inconsistency. Expect him to take the lead on Saturday night as the Timberwolves try to keep pace with Oklahoma City, particularly from three-point range.
Rudy Gobert to Record 8+ Rebounds (-210): Rudy Gobert has played a limited role through Games 1 and 2 for the Timberwolves. His offensive contributions are never the focus, but he’ll be relied upon to win the battle on the glass.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to Score 30+ Points (-180): Newly minted NBA Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been in excellent form through the Western Conference Finals. The Thunder will lean on him even more when the series shifts to Minnesota, as he’s been unstoppable at the point of attack.
