NBA Player Props and Best Bets: LeBron James & More Picks for Thursday, Feb. 12
Today is the final day of the NBA before the All-Star break, and I’m here to break down my favorite NBA Player Props and top picks for the Thursday action.
Cam Thomas dropped 34 points in his debut with the Milwaukee Bucks yesterday, helping them take down the Orlando Magic. Kawhi Leonard also went for 27 points, 12 rebounds, and four steals as the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Houston Rockets.
There are only three games today, headlined by the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Dallas Mavericks in the nightcap.
Here are my best NBA player prop picks and bets for Thursday, Feb. 12, the final day before All-Star Weekend.

Kevin Porter Jr. Under 20.5 Points (-102) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Porter Jr. averaged 17.5 points on 45 percent shooting, but his 32.5 percent three-point shooting means that he’s inherently capped. He also went under this line in six of his last eight games and only shot 35.7 percent from the field in yesterday’s win over the Magic.
The arrival of the aforementioned Thomas, combined with his performance yesterday, could lead to fewer shots, if not fewer minutes, for Porter Jr. The Oklahoma City Thunder also allowed the fewest points per game in the entire NBA and have plenty of guards to throw at Porter Jr.

Cason Wallace Under 1.5 Threes (+110) at FanDuel Sportsbook
I’ll start by addressing the elephant in the room—yes, the Bucks rank dead last in made threes allowed per game over the last few weeks. They also appear to be ready to invest in Thomas as a member of their backcourt, and he’s far from a reliable defensive option.
All that said, Wallace is surviving on a reputation as a great three-point shooter that he built as a rookie. He only shot 35.6 percent from deep last year and 35.1 percent this time around, and he went under this line in five straight games while shooting 32.1 percent from deep in February.

Donovan Clingan Under 13.5 Points (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook
The Portland Trail Blazers’ second-year center averaged an even 11.4 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. He went over this line in three of his last five games, but he’s also one of the bottom options in an offense that also features Deni Avdija, Jermai Grant, and Jrue Holiday.
Portland is about to take on the Utah Jazz, whose trade acquisition of Jaren Jackson Jr. gives them one of the largest frontcourts in the NBA with him, Walker Kessler, and Lauri Markkanen. It’s a very limited sample size, but in two games with Jackson Jr. in the lineup, the Jazz ranked fourth in the NBA in points in the paint allowed per game.

LeBron James Over 22.5 Points (-130) at FanDuel Sportsbook
The Lakers are mercifully approaching the All-Star break, which will give them time to get healthy and get back on the same page after they lost the momentum they built early in the year. LeBron went under this line in three straight games and in both matchups with the Mavericks, but I expect that to be different tonight.
The Mavs ranked 23rd in points allowed per game over the last few weeks, and they will be at even more of a disadvantage with Cooper Flagg scheduled to miss the contest. LeBron has been a master of moments over his career, and the upcoming prospect of a week off could lead to him getting back to his best tonight.

Naji Marshall Under 3.5 Assists (+116) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Marshall is going to be one of the primary scoring threats in Dallas’ offense without Flagg available to run the show. He scored more than 30 points in two of his last three games, but he also did not get to four assists in six of his last seven.
The Lakers were only 22nd in assists allowed per game over the last few weeks, but the Mavs simply don’t have many guys capable of consistently putting the ball in the cup. Marshall split the over/under in four games without Flagg this season, and I believe there is more value betting on the under.
