Oklahoma vs. Georgia Prediction and Odds: Sooners and Bulldogs Close Out Day 1 SEC Tournament
The Oklahoma Sooners (19-12, 6-12) will wrap up Day One of the SEC Tournament when they face off against the Georgia Bulldogs (20-11, 8-10) at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET with coverage via the SEC Network.
Oklahoma cruised through its non-conference slate unscathed, going 13-0. But things got real once conference play got rolling. They lost their first four and, at one point, lost seven of eight; the Sooners ended up going a dismal 6-12 in conference action.
Georgia fans saw the season unfold in a similar manner, with the Bulldogs going 12-1 in nonconference games. They got off to a 2-1 start in SEC play, but things quickly devolved as they lost nine of their next 11 before finishing the season on a four-game winning streak.

Oklahoma vs. Georgia Prediction
Oklahoma was 16-15 against the spread during the regular season. They had better luck covering when they were underdogs (10-6) relative to when favored (6-9). Georgia was a little better ATS, going 17-14. Unlike the Sooners, they were better ATS when favored (11-6).
As for the total, the OVER went 18-13 for Oklahoma and 12-19 for the Bulldogs.
Oklahoma Sooners Preview
Expectations were not high for the Sooners heading into the basketball season as they opened with just a 1.64% chance of winning the SEC title this season. With a conference mark of 6-12, it is safe to say they were never really in the picture.
Of course, in a top-heavy conference like the SEC that has seven ranked teams, including four in the top ten, it’s going to be hard to compete. Six of their 12 conference losses were by four points or less.
So, had one or two bounces/plays gone a different way in those games, the Sooners could be 11-7 in conference play and 24-7 overall and looking to make a run in the NCAA Tournament.
As is, they’ll probably need to make a deep run in the SEC Tournament, if not win it outright, to make it this year.
For that to happen, they’ll need above-average games from their two leading scorers, Jeremiah Fears (16.3 points per game) and Jalon Moore (16.2 ppg). Fears only had two points when these two teams played back in January (Georgia won 72-62), and Moore had 17.
The Bulldogs were 6.5-point favorites in that game, and the total was 147.5 points.

Georgia Bulldogs Preview
The Bulldogs' season got off to a great start, with Georgia going 12-1 in nonconference games. Even when conference play got underway, things went well as they got out to a 2-1 conference record with wins over No. 6 Kentucky (82-69) and No. 17 Oklahoma (72-62).
But then reality set in as they lost five of their next six games, including four to top ten teams. They wrapped the regular season up going 4-5 the rest of the way, a stretch that included a four-game losing streak and a four-game winning streak.
One of those wins came against No. 3 Florida, 88-83. Silas Demary led the way for the Bulldogs, hitting seven of 12 shots, including 4-6 from three-point range. Four other players recorded double-digit points on the day.
Asa Newell led the Bulldogs in scoring this season, averaging 15.1 points per game for Georgia. Silas Demary Jr follows him with 13.1 points per game. They are the only players averaging in double digits for the Bulldogs.

Oklahoma vs. Georgia Betting Pick

Oklahoma vs. Georgia Pick: Georgia -2.5 (-115) at BetMGM
The Bulldogs can’t hold a candle to some of the SEC’s elite teams, i.e., Auburn. Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, etc., but they are one of the better teams in the conference. However, at 19-12, the Sooners are in the thick of the NCAA Tournament hunt as well.
Whoever wins will have a much better shot at making the NCAA Tournament. In light of Oklahoma’s 3-7 stretch to end the regular season, I’m leaning toward the Bulldogs pulling this one out.
