Grant Mitchell and Tanner Kern debuted their new betting-centric theme on the latest edition of Ride the Line and gave out their favorite betting picks for Game 5 of the NBA finals between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets.

NBA Finals Game 5 Best Bets

The show started off with a quick summation of the last couple of games in the Finals and their predictions as to who will win Monday night. Both co-hosts are leaning towards the Nuggets and believe the series will be all wrapped up in just five games despite the Heat initially stealing home court in Game 2.

Grant and Tanner’s optimism in the Nuggets’ camp was clear in Tanner’s first bet, which was the Nuggets’ first-half spread of -5.5. He pointed to the Heat’s slow starts as the main reason for his confidence and believes the home team will be in full control throughout the 48 minutes.

Grant’s favorite bet was also a major line within a smaller section of the game. Tanner called it a “sharp” play and was impressed hearing it in real-time—to find out what it was, you’ll need to go listen to the episode for yourself.

Nuggets vs Heat Player Props

The first player prop offered on the show came from Tanner, who is looking at the under on Jimmy Butler’s points total of 27.5. He discussed Butler’s alarming lack of efficiency and aggression throughout the series and said that the line was too close to his best performance of the Finals and not a real middle ground.

If the Heat are going to win, it will likely have to be because of Butler. But with the way the series is going, and with both co-hosts believing the Nuggets wrap up the series in five games, the under looks like a strong play.

Grant also talked about an under in one of his player props. He is taking the under on Jamal Murray’s assists total of 8.5 despite him recording double-digit assists in all four games of the series. His reasoning is that Murray has been forced into becoming a playmaker because the Heat have blitzed the pick-and-roll, which leaves cutters and other teammates open. He doesn’t think Miami will be in that defensive alignment and Murray will go back to being a scorer.

For Grant’s standout pick and the remainder of his and Tanner’s best bets for Game 5 of the NBA Finals, head on over to watch Ride the Line on YouTube or download it from your preferred podcast provider.
