Thursday Night Football Betting Picks

The Chiefs (4-1) will take on the Broncos (1-4) at home in the Week 6 edition of TNF. The Broncos have not beaten the Chiefs since 2015 and head into the matchup as 10.5-point underdogs following a 10-point loss to the New York Jets last week.

Wednesday’s show was another solo-Tanner special, but the magic man made it happen just like always.

Tanner’s favorite play in this matchup is the under of 48 points. Not only do primetime matchups have a well-documented history of going under, but this is a week in which both teams will be battling short rest. It’s also a divisional matchup, which should make the game even more competitive.

Grant also loves the under but is also leaning towards Broncos +10.5. Denver is 0-4-1 against the spread while Kansas City is 3-2, but each team is scoring just about the same amount of points per game (though Denver gives up more points than any team, while KC is fifth). The Chiefs are also 6-12 when favored by at least 10.5 points during the Patrick Mahomes era.

Tanner will also be playing Isiah Pacheco over 77.5 rushing yards. Pacheco has shown lots of growth in his second year in the league, and although he’s only hit this mark once in five games, he’s consistently gotten a heft amount of carries and will go against a Denver defense that has allowed 187.6 rushing yards per game—the most in the league.

If the under is going to hit as Tanner believes, it will likely coincide with the Chiefs pounding the rock. Travis Kelce is banged up after suffering an ankle sprain last week, which gives more credence to Pacheco having a big night.

Grant’s favorite player prop in the AFC West affair is Jaleel McLaughlin as an anytime touchdown scorer for as high as +225 on major sportsbooks. The rookie 5-foot-7 running back has scored three touchdowns in five weeks and in back-to-back weeks and is in line for an expanded role this week.

Javonte Williams only received two carries last week, while McLaughlin got a team-high seven. He’s also the primary pass-catching back and will be invaluable late in games or if the Broncos have to battle back from a deficit.

Check back throughout the week for more episodes of Ride the Line with more NFL betting picks and sports betting news!
