Kentucky is joining the ever-growing list of states with legal sports betting on Thursday, September 7, and DraftKings is letting new users claim an assortment of prizes by using a pre-registration promo code.
Retail sports betting will go live in the Bluegrass State on September 7, and online sports betting will commence on September 28.
The DraftKings pre-registration offer is currently open and will expire as soon as the online market opens for business. Until that day, all new users have the opportunity to win $200 in bonus bets and usher in the new era in style.
To qualify for the $200 in bonus bets, you’ll need to follow these steps.

Note that customers may not already have an existing DraftKings account and must be 18+ and located in Kentucky to redeem the promo offer. Bonus bets also come in the form of eight $25 increments and can be used in any DraftKings betting market once the online marketplace opens on the 28th.
Bonus bets are valid for seven days once the online market opens. These bonus bets are essentially credits that can be used to win prizes but may not be withdrawn for cash or transferred to another sportsbook.
Kentucky became the 37th state to legalize sports betting when Gov. Andy Beshear put pen to paper on HB 551. The impending launch of both the retail and online sports betting markets has been long-awaited but is finally a near-reality.
Users can take advantage of their newfound bonus bets through the DraftKings Kentucky pre-registration promo during the NFL season, if they so wish. The NFL season is the busiest time of the year for sportsbooks, and the September 28 launch date coincides with Week 4 of the 2023 season.
