How Underdog Pick'em Works

Underdog Pick'em is a streamlined statistical prediction game that replaces traditional fantasy salary caps with straightforward higher/lower statistical picks.

Core Mechanics

• Select between 2 and 8 player projections from available slates.

• Predict whether a player will finish More or Less than their assigned statistical benchmark (e.g., Shots on Goal, Points, Assists).

• Combine multiple picks into a single entry slip. A standard 2-pick entry that hits pays 3× your initial entry fee, with multipliers scaling higher as additional picks are added to the slip.

Worked Example: Kings vs. Islanders Entry

1. Selection 1: Pick Adrian Kempe (Kings) - More than 2.5 Shots on Goal.

2. Selection 2: Pick Bo Horvat (Islanders) - More than 0.5 Points.

3. Entry Submission: Submit a $10 cash or bonus credit entry on this 2-pick entry slip.

4. Outcome and Payout: If Kempe records 3 or more shots AND Horvat registers at least 1 point (goal or assist), the entry hits. At a standard 3× payout multiplier, your $10 entry returns 30 total (20 profit).

Kings vs. Islanders - Players in the Spotlight

When preparing picks for Thursday's game, historical performance and current season stats offer essential context for player tendencies:

• Adrian Kempe (Los Angeles Kings): Kempe continues to serve as a primary engine for the Kings' attack. Early performance trends show him consistently generating high-volume offensive opportunities, registering 3+ shots on goal in 4 of his last 6 appearances while maintaining high top-line ice time.

• Bo Horvat (New York Islanders): Serving as a focal point for the Islanders' top line and first power-play unit, Horvat has produced steady offensive output. He has recorded at least 1 point in 5 of the team's first 9 games, making his offensive stat lines a focal point for daily entries.

• Mathew Barzal (New York Islanders): Known for driving play and playmaking at even strength, Barzal's assist and point baselines reflect his high usage rate in key offensive situations.

• Anze Kopitar (Los Angeles Kings): The veteran center continues to log significant ice time across all situations, providing stable baseline stats in points and power-play usage.
