WNBA Player Props and Best Bets: Rhyne Howard Is Back, A'ja Wilson Is Balling, and More

Wednesday will be a busy night in the WNBA with four games scheduled to take place, starting with the Sun hosting the Sky at 7 p.m. EST and ending with the Dream facing the Storm. With the matchups on deck, it should be an excellent night for betting on WNBA Player Props.

Marina Mabrey, OVER 15.5 Points (-102) at FanDuel

Both teams have been redefining what it means to “struggle” this season. That being said, Mabrey has averaged 15 points per game since Aug. 1, a number made lower because of a dreadful three-point game against the Valkyries (Aug. 11).

She scored OVER this total in four of six games in August, including her last three. Against a poor Chicago defense, she’ll make it four in a row.

Golden State Valkyries vs. Washington Mystics

Janelle Salaun, UNDER 11.5 Points (-122) at FanDuel

My first thought was to go with the OVER when it was 10.5 points, given that she scored OVER 10.5 in four of her last five games and is averaging 10.3 points per game this season. But there is a distinct difference in how well Salaun plays at home and on the road.

Salaun is averaging 14 ppg at home since the break. However, on the road, she is averaging 9.2. Three of the four games in which she went OVER 10.5 points were at home. So, since she is on the road against a decent Washington defense and her TOTAL has gone up to 11.5 points, take the UNDER.

Veronica Burton, OVER 4.5 Assists (-144) at FanDuel

She leads the team with 5.2 assists per game this season and recorded five and ten vs. the Mystics in the prior two matchups. Her assist totals range from zero to ten this month (five games), but she’s gone OVER the TOTAL just twice.  

Since she just recorded 10 vs. the Mystics on July 31, and she’s averaging more than the TOTAL, take the OVER.

A'ja Wilson, OVER 22.5 Points (-106) at FanDuel

• A'ja Wilson, OVER 10.5 Rebounds (-114) at FanDuel

Wilson is averaging 21.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game since the break, going over the point total in her last three games and the rebound total in three of four. The Liberty defense has been averaging 84+ ppg allowed and ranks last in opponents' rebounds since the break.

New York dominated both prior matchups, but with Breanna Stewart out, the defense isn’t the same. Wilson and the Aces have been hitting their stride, winning four in a row and six of their last seven. Vegas may not win, but it will be a more competitive game, and Wilson will get hers.

Atlanta Dream vs. Seattle Storm

Rhyne Howard, OVER 1.5 Made Threes (-146) at FanDuel

Howard made her long-awaited return in Atlanta’s last game, playing 16 minutes off the bench vs. Phoenix on Sunday and missing all seven shots that she took (five from three-point range).  Being rusty in your first game back after a long layoff is not unusual.

This season, she has averaged 9.5 attempts per game and 2.8 made threes. Now that the first-game back jitters are out of the way, there’s a good chance she makes a couple.

Brionna Jones, OVER 6.5 Rebounds (+108) at FanDuel

She leads the team with 7.4 per game, but has averaged 6.3 rebounds per game since the break. But her struggles were primarily in July following the break. But in four games this month, she has gone OVER 6.5 rebounds in three. At +108, the value is certainly with the OVER.
