It has been a thrilling start to March Madness, especially for those who live in the state of North Carolina after the legalization of mobile sports betting. The ACC has dominated for the likes of in-state teams North Carolina, Duke, and North Carolina State, all bringing added excitement with their fans being able to back them financially.

While the first weekend is set to wrap up this Sunday, it’s not too late for residents in the state of North Carolina to get in on the action. Better yet, mobile sportsbooks are offering new user sign-up promotions and offers in order to give their users a head start with their betting action. DraftKings Sportbook is one of the mobile apps offering a new user sign-up bonus, giving new users $250 in bonus bets after creating an account and making an initial wager of at least $5.

No promo code is required to get the bonus bets, being as simple as creating an account and making an initial wager of at least $5. After meeting the requirements, DraftKings will credit your account $250 in bonus bets in the form of 10 x $25 bonus bets. That gives the user the ability to either spread them out across various markets and wagers or the chance to place them all on one bet. For a more in-depth review of the DraftKings sportsbook, you can read it here.

The previously mentioned DraftKings promotion is only for North Carolina residents, yet others looking to get in on the action in other legal mobile sports betting states can receive a different new user sign-up offer. New users outside of the state of North Carolina can receive up to $150 in bonus bets for creating an account and making an initial wager of at least $5. That wager can be used toward Duke’s matchup against James Madison with the Blue Devils looking to move on as a sizable favorite.

Duke vs. James Madison Prediction & Pick

Duke entered the tournament in an underwhelming fashion after being bounced out of the ACC Conference tournament and losing their season finale to North Carolina. That didn’t affect them in the slightest as they bounced back and routed Vermont from the opening tip. Every bit of their well-balanced attack was on full display and they now go against another double-digit against James Madison after they took care of business against Wisconsin.

While James Madison’s performance against Wisconsin was certainly impressive, they now face a far tougher test with star big man Kyle Filipowski poised to give their interior defense problems. This was an area of offense that Wisconsin could not exploit, now having to go against Filipowski who can take his defender off the dribble as well as stop and pop for a midrange.

That puts serious pressure on James Madison’s defenders, most likely having to sacrifice coverage elsewhere in order to try and smother Filipowski with doubles when he attacks the rim. That opens up the floor and creates gaps in James Madison’s coverage, giving the Blue Devils secondary cast of scorers high-quality shooting opportunities to convert from deep.
