FanDuel North Carolina Bonus: Start March Madness with $250 in Prizes

North Carolina allowed retail sports betting at a few tribal casinos since 2019 but only just launched online sports betting on March 11, just over a week before the beginning of March Madness.

With the new milestone and endless betting opportunities coming to light, FanDuel is giving all first-time customers in North Carolina the chance to win $250 in prizes by betting on the second of two First Four matchups on Tuesday.

Here’s how to claim the offer:

  1. Visit FanDuel Sportsbook online or via the mobile app

  2. Click “Join Now” and enter your personal information when prompted

  3. Place a bet of at least $5 on the UVA vs. Colorado State March Madness matchup

  4. Win $250 in bonus bets

Bonus bets are currency native to FanDuel that cannot be withdrawn for cash or transferred to a different sportsbook but that can be used as the stake for bets at FanDuel.

All customers interested in redeeming the $250 prize must be 21 or older, inside North Carolina state lines, and may not have an existing FanDuel account. New FanDuel users in any legal state other than North Carolina can still win $150 in bonus bets if they win a qualifying bet of at least $5.

The great part about that deal is that there is no minimum odds requirement to win the $150 in bonus bets, meaning a bettor could take the largest favorite of the day and still win up to 30x their money with a winning wager.

Bonus bets cannot be used on round robins but can be used in any other legal market on FanDuel. Bonus bets expire after seven days, so make sure to take advantage of them while they’re there.

FanDuel is available in all of the following states: AZ, CO, CT, IL, TN, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, VA, VT, WV, and WY.

North Carolina March Madness Bonus: Secure $250 in Prizes During the First Four

They say first impressions are everything, and FanDuel is going above and beyond to extend the warmest welcome to all of its new North Carolina customers.

The UVA vs. Colorado State matchup represents one of the most unique showdowns in the tournament. In a day and age in which teams in all sports are focused on getting faster, these two teams want to slow the game down. No team averaged fewer possessions per game than UVA, while more than 300 schools played at a quicker tempo than Co. State.

The Cavaliers went 1-3 against ranked teams but still finished the year 23-10. Reece Beekman led them with 14.3 points and 6.3 assists and was also voted the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. The team is horrible at the charity stripe but has one of the best and most experienced coaches, Tony Bennett, at the helm.

On the other side, the Rams went 24-10 and beat the only top-25 team (Creighton) they faced all year. Senior guard Isaiah Stevens is the standout, having averaged 16.5 points on 44.7% three-point shooting. This team creates a ton of assists per game but doesn’t rebound well.

The winner of the matchup will secure the 10 seed in the Midwest region and the rights to play No. 7 Texas.

Basketball statistics site ranks Colorado State as the 38th-best team in the country, while UVA is 69th. FanDuel also has the Rams as a 2.5-point favorite as of Tuesday morning.
