The highlight of this weekend’s boxing action comes from Canada, as Albert Ramirez takes on Lerrone Richards in a 12-round contest broadcast live on DAZN from the Montreal Casino.
Ramirez and Richards clash in a bout scheduled for 12 rounds
Richards brings a 19-1-0 record as a professional boxer
Ramirez arrives on fight night with a stunning 86% KO average
Promoted by Camille Estephan for ‘Eye of the Tiger', fight fans enjoy an intriguing eight-fight programme from Quebec, with several respected titles decided on the night. The focus has been on unbeaten Venezuelan fighter Ramirez this week, with experts predicting another showreel stoppage win for the big-hitter. Will he deliver before a global audience?
The man starting in the opposite corner and plotting to spoil the party is Britain’s Lerrone Richards. The Londoner will duck between the ropes as an underdog on fight night, but the stats show ‘Sniper The Boss’ is a real threat. Major bookmakers offer pre-fight betting odds on Ramirez vs Richards, allowing armchair fans to pick sides and target a profit.
In addition to the fight winner market, the sportsbooks featured on this page offer exact round betting, method of victory, total rounds, and more. You can study the stats, pick your best bet, set a stake, and confirm.

The odds displayed above come from the BetMGM app and are correct at the time of writing. Please remember that boxing betting odds are subject to change, and the price you see when placing your boxing bets may differ from what was available when researching. I often tell my readers that it’s best to get your stake down early when betting on boxing.
As you can see from the table above, traders working at BetMGM expect Ramirez to win. The odds suggest anything other than victory for Albert would be a huge shock. However, experienced boxing fans know anything can, and often does, happen in this sport. Please don’t let the odds ever put you off backing a fighter or a market.

It’s not difficult to understand why oddsmakers have Ramirez as their betting favourite before the opening bell. He’s unbeaten to date, carries a fearsome knockout average, and is ranked number two in the world. He’s a strong pick, but I don’t believe too many gamblers will back him at the odds offered. A $70 bet pays a $10 profit, and that’s just too risky for my liking.
Prefer to play at the higher price? Richards hasn’t travelled from London to Quebec simply to make up the numbers. He’s a fantastic fighter with the tools to cause his opponent problems. If you bet $10 on Lerrone to head back to England with the win, and he delivers, you’ll secure a $50 profit. To help you find the best bet, I’ll now work through the form of both men.

Albert Ramirez is a 34-year-old southpaw boxer with a 22-0-0 career, 19 wins coming inside the distance. The man from El Vigia made his professional debut with a first-round stoppage win eight years ago. Interestingly, Albert beat his first three opponents in the opening round. He defeated his first 11 rivals without the help of the scoring judges.
Ramirez heads into this latest challenge as the number two ranked fighter at the weight, just behind pound-for-pound great Dmitrii Bivol. A win on Friday wouldn’t lift Ramirez above Bivol, but it would certainly keep him on the right track. Team Ramirez know they must win, but also get the victory in style. A 20th KO in 23 outings would do just fine.

Lerrone Richards travels from New Malden, London with a boxing record showing 19 wins and one loss. He has beaten only four opponents inside the distance, proving that the 33-year-old relies on his boxing skills and speed, rather than punch-power. He’ll require all that ability and ring IQ to get anything from his trip to Canada. Will Richards cause an upset?
The 5’11” southpaw boxer born in Surrey, made a winning debut at the York Hall in 2013. I was ringside at that fight as some of my teammates were on the card, noting a punch-perfect debut. The only man to defeat Lerrone to date is Steed Woodall who won by KO in round six last summer. Richards made a quickfire return to winning ways less than three months later.

Ramirez’s form makes him a worthy favourite, but the odds put us off. If you plan to back him, I’d suggest doing so in the method of victory market. You’ll get odds of around -150 at most major sportsbooks. Again, those odds aren’t big enough to catch my attention. Instead, I’m happy to take a chance on the underdog showing his teeth. I’m backing Richards.
As mentioned earlier, Lerrone has lost only once, beaten when contesting the WBO Inter-Continental super middleweight belt. That was a painful night, but he’ll be a better fighter for the experience. We’ll need a share of luck in Canada, but if Richards can find his range and settle into a rhythm, I expect this bout will last into the later rounds.
Our pick’s best chance of winning comes from Lerrone avoiding the early pressure. He’ll box at range, score shots, and catch the eye of the judges. You can keep it simple and back Richards to win in the fight-winner market at strong odds or aim higher and take the Brit to win on points at around +1200 with most reputable boxing betting apps.
