It’s one of the most talked-about fights in recent years, and it happens on Friday evening in Texas. Mike Tyson returns to the ring after almost 20 years to face YouTube sensation and rising professional boxer Jake Paul. The AT&T Stadium in Arlington provides the backdrop, a stunning venue packed to capacity, boosted by millions more fight fans worldwide watching the action live on television.
The main event is supported by a competitive seven-fight undercard with no fewer than six major titles on the line. Tyson vs Paul is a non-title fight contested over eight rounds and serves as the main attraction, especially for casual followers of boxing. The sport’s purists have much more interest in the chief support as two of the biggest names from women’s boxing go head-to-head in an eagerly anticipated rematch. Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano is an Ireland vs Puerto Rico bout that has divided opinion and will keep fans guessing until the final punch is thrown and the result confirmed.
You can read our in-depth preview of Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul here on World Sports Network. Our boxing writer and former professional fighter, Frankie Monkhouse, joins us from Greenock in Scotland as he breaks down the battle, updates readers on the form of both men, and offers his expert betting tips. If you'd prefer to keep it simple and bet on the winner of Friday’s big fight on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul, you’ll find plenty to hold your interest in the moneyline.
BetMGM Sportsbook traders have Taylor as the -120 betting favorite, but we’re backing an emphatic win for Serrano at the -110 available.
All the pressure is on the judges to call this fight right, and if Serrano does enough to merit the decision, a decider in 2025 would be huge for women’s boxing. Follow our predictions, and then sit back and enjoy a fantastic show.

Irish fighter Katie Taylor travels to the United States on the back of one of the most important and impressive wins of her career. The 38-year-old orthodox boxer from Bray, Ireland, moved her professional record to 23 wins against one defeat, with six victories scored inside the distance. She avenged that spare loss on her card when beating Chantelle Cameron at the 3Arena in Dublin almost exactly 12 months ago. In claiming victory, Taylor landed the IBF, IBO, WBC, and WBO world super lightweight titles.
The narrow points win over Cameron was particularly pleasing for Taylor as she had lost to the same fighter in her previous outing, dropping a majority decision over ten rounds at the same venue six months before. The result caused controversy with many fight fans inside the stadium believing Taylor had done enough to merit the decision. The official scorecards called it 96-94 twice for Cameron and a 94-94 draw. KT accepted defeat like a warrior, regrouping, learning the lessons of that night, and returning to winning ways. She’s now looking for a second victory over Friday’s opponent after beating Serrano on points in 2022.
Madison Square Garden, New York, provided the setting for Taylor vs Serrano I, and the fight lived up to the billing, doing the famous boxing venue justice. It was another hard-fought contest that could’ve gone either way, with both women enjoying success and landing clean shots. But the scoring judges sat at ringside called it for Taylor, returning 96-93 and 97-93 for the Irish fighter and 96-94 for Serrano. Will we see another close fight this weekend that asks questions of the judges?

Amanda Serrano travels from her training camp in Puerto Rico determined to defeat one of only two women she has lost to in a career stretching back to 2009. Amanda lost on points over ten rounds for the WBC world super featherweight title back in 2012 to Frida Wallberg in Sweden. Her second loss was inflicted by Taylor, also on points, 13 years later in New York. Many American boxing fans strongly believed Serrano was the winner that evening and was robbed by two of the three judges. More than two years later, she’ll get the chance to set the record straight with a win.
If Serrano beats Taylor and moves the head-to-head to one win each, fans can look forward to a winner-takes-all decider next year. But Serrano won’t be thinking about anything past Friday evening in Texas. She knows her career has been excellent, and she’ll be remembered as one of the greatest female fighters in history. But Serrano dearly wants to beat Taylor to cement her legacy. She wants to show the world she can bounce back from defeat and return a better fighter. Will she get her wish before a huge audience?
Serrano’s CV ahead of Friday’s return to the ring shows she is the vastly more experienced fighter of the two, with 47 wins against those two defeats and one draw suffered early in her journey. Since losing to KT, The Real Deal has fought five times and won five, scoring four victories on points and one inside the distance. Her last outing produced a second-round stoppage win over Stevie Morgan in Tampa, and fans would love more of the same here.
