The La Liga 2022/23 season gets under way on August 12 and there is plenty to be excited about. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will be fighting for the title, while a host of clubs will be involved in the relegation battle.
There is also the battle to be the top goalscorer. Once the preserve of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the departure of both players from Spanish soccer has in theory opened up the race. However, as the odds below demonstrate, there are once again two overwhelming favorites to finish at the top of the charts this term.
The season will run until June 4 due to a lengthy break during November and December for the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar.

Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema are neck-and-neck in the betting markets to finish as the La Liga top goalscorer. Lewandowski has joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich, where he averaged better than a goal per game in the last three seasons. Benzema won the award last term and will not give it up easily.
It is only natural that the main strikers from La Liga’s two biggest clubs are the favorites, but it is worth looking at some of the other options here. Celta Vigo will not get anywhere near Barcelona or Real Madrid, but Iago Aspas has a proven track record at this level. Look out, too, for Gerard Moreno, with Villarreal likely to do better in the league than they did last time out.
Vinicius Junior of Madrid and Raphinha of Barcelona could potentially rival Benzema and Lewandowski for goals, but that would probably be dependent on the center-forwards suffering injuries.
