Occasionally, it makes sense to be clever and dig beneath the surface to find home run props. But Monday isn’t one of those days. We’ve kept things simple by targeting some of the most obvious candidates. We have four hitters who have all had a good season and look poised to keep it going on Monday.

There are some fantastic home run props out there today, but some stand above the rest. Below are the players we’re locked in on.
Buxton currently ranks third in the majors with 24 home runs, making him a sound option just about every day. He’s also coming off a weekend in which he went 5 for 13 with a home run, so he’s heating up right now. The kicker is that Buxton and the Twins face Eric Lauer on Monday.
The caveat is that only four of Buxton’s 24 home runs have been hit against left-handed pitchers. But Lauer has been so bad that we can overlook that. The southpaw has given up 16 home runs this year, including four in just 16.1 innings since joining the Dodgers. The kicker is that Buxton is 4 for 10 with two home runs in his career against Lauer, so the head-to-head record favors Buxton as well.

Caminero’s power has been oddly absent lately. Since June 1, he has only had one home run, despite totaling 15 on the season. But he’s still hitting, going 6 for 15 over his last four games, so he could be due for a long ball. Monday’s matchup against Michael Wacha should also help Caminero snap his home run drought.
Wacha has had a good season, although he’s been unusually vulnerable to the long ball, giving up 10 despite his 3.64 ERA. Right-handed hitters have hit for more power against Wacha, making Caminero Tampa’s best power option for Monday. Fittingly, Caminero has hit 12 of his 15 home runs against right-handed pitchers, so everything is aligned for him to go deep.

Burleson continues to be one of our favorite home run targets, especially since he tends to offer excellent value. He has 13 home runs on the season and is coming off a three-hit day on Sunday, so we’re going to try striking while the iron is hot. With six home runs in June but no home runs in his last six games, Burleson is due for another long ball.
Of course, Monday’s matchup against Arizona’s Merrill Kelly also plays a role in this bet. While Burelson is only 1 for 8 in his career against Kelly, that can be forgotten because of Kelly’s disastrous season. He owns a 5.81 ERA, while allowing 15 home runs in 69.2 innings. Left-handed hitters have crushed Kelly for 10 of those home runs and a .571 slugging percentage, making Burleson the most dangerous hitter in the St. Louis lineup.

Brady Singer starts on Monday, so we’re determined to bet on somebody in Milwaukee’s lineup to go deep. Singer has managed to pitch better lately, not allowing a home run in either of his last two starts. Of course, he did that against the Mets and Padres (two weak-hitting teams) and still has a 5.32 ERA with 17 home runs allowed this year.
Left-handed hitters are slugging .565 against Singer and are responsible for 11 of those 17 home runs, which helps point us toward Turang. He’s usually not the most obvious home run candidate in Milwaukee’s lineup, but 10 of his 11 home runs have come against right-handed pitchers. He’s also 3 for 8 with two doubles in his career against Singer, making him capable of doing some damage on Monday.
