Veteran Justin Allgaier is Best of Xfinity Regulars This Weekend

When it comes to 1.5-mile intermediate speedways this season, Justin Allgaier has been on his game.

The reigning NASCAR Xfinity Series champion has scored two victories so far this season—at 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway and at 1.5-mile Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Allgaier has always had good speed at Charlotte, even last year when he started ninth, led 40 laps and swept the first two stages before his race came to an early end in a crash.

In 2023, Allgaier dominated Charlotte, leading 83 laps and winning by a whopping 7.829 seconds over John Hunter Nemechek.

No wonder Allgaier is confident heading to Charlotte for Saturday’s BetMGM 300.

“Charlotte has been a really strong track for us these past few years, and I feel extremely confident heading into this weekend with our Hellmann’s / DeCA Chevrolet,” Allgaier said.

“We’ve had a lot of speed all season long on these mile-and-a-half tracks, and I know that we’re going to unload that way again on Saturday.”

Cup Regular Chase Briscoe Makes Rare Appearance In Xfinity Car

Chase Briscoe made a move to Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 19 NASCAR Cup Series team this season, and that also means an occasional chance to drive a JGR Xfinity car.

Briscoe will be in top-notch equipment when he takes to the track on Saturday. Aric Almirola already has posted a victory, a second and a third in the No. 19 Toyota Briscoe will drive in the BetMGM 300.

As good as his equipment will be, Briscoe hasn’t run an Xfinity Series race since 2022, and that was on the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Briscoe is likely to be competitive, but it’s difficult to expect him to win after such a long layoff in the series.

William Byron Returns to Dominant No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy

There’s no doubt that the No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet is a stout machine. Kyle Larson has won two races in the car in dominant fashion this year—at Bristol and Texas—and would have won another at Homestead, but for a late restart.

Chase Elliott won the BetMGM 300 at Charlotte last year in the same Hendrick Chevrolet.

This time, William Byron gets his turn in the formidable Camaro, which he drove to a second-place finish at Circuit of the Americas on March 1.

Oddsmakers know the No. 17 Chevy is the car to beat on Saturday, and Byron, a two-time Daytona 500 winner, is capable of taking it to Victory Lane.

Accordingly, we have to go with the obvious choice here—Byron to win the race at +250 via BetMGM.
